I don't really care at all about red bull the energy drink, but I really appreciate how many events the company does to so many different sports. Actually that's what Redbull actually does to make money... The drink is just a side business, there's not even a "red-bull" factory... It's produced by license Doesn't mean it's bad... It's a brilliant media marketing empire....

@@xistsixt ???? Redbull made $6B from drink sales in 2019. The drink is the business, even if it's produced by a thai licensee. Everything else is marketing, it doesn't make money directly.
@vocalimpactplays217

@@xistsixt Lol what? The drink is absolutely their main business, and the income from the drink funds everything else they do (sports events, F1/esports/football teams, wild one-off extreme stunts like Baumgartner's jump from the weather balloon, etc). F1 teams (any racing team really) and sponsoring events and tournaments eat up a TON of money and don't turn a profit on their own - the benefit is purely to get eyes on the "Red Bull" brand and get people to buy it. The company generally spends around 30% of its income (which is almost entirely from the drink) annually for "marketing", which all of this stuff would fall under.
@xistsixt
@xistsixt Жыл бұрын
@@SilverScraper Answer in 2021..Red Bull sells eight billion cans(!) of their energy drinks but it doesn't manufacture any drinks at all. So how you want to get 6 billion$ out of that if you make only a fraction of a dollar for one can...? How you want to finance a F1 team with that? And Soccer team... And a flying WW2 Museum... And so so much more... There are multiple documentations that they make more money out of marketing the events and producing media out of them. What's brilliant in my opinion.

I've said it before I'll say it again, Cedar Wright is one of the most genuinely good human beings I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I was a summer Intern for a gear manufacturer back in college, and was lucky enough to travel to the Outdoor Retailer convention. In between working shifts I would just wander the show and see all the newest gear, but when I went over to the Black Diamond booth, Cedar was sitting in the middle of it having a meeting with one of the designers about what I think was a backpack (?). So I'm a bit star struck as an 19 year old kid who is an absolute NOBODY, but also just trying to see what Black Diamond had. Cedar stops his meeting, stands up, walks over to the other side of the booth and shakes my hand asks how I am doing. We chat for a few minutes and he has to go finish his meeting again. He didn't have to do that, I wasn't going to interrupt, but he took a genuine interest (Or made me feel like he did) in me, how I was doing, and just wanted to say hi. I loved Cedar before that moment, and since then he has continued to be the awesome human I met probably 10+ years ago.

Yo magnus, great climbing as usual 👌 I went to a climbing gym (UK) for the first time in my life yesterday with my best friend. We both had a great time, and I was able to tell help him and myself a lot because of your channel. I actually managed to get a couple 6s and flashed most of the 4s and 5s! Even though I've always climbed trees and messed around, I just wanted to thank you, because that was mostly from your videos that I did that. I will keep saying it - I would love to hear more from you with whatever you're willing to share (whether it's climbing or not). I'm waiting for the day when I see you on a podcast of some kind haha. Hope you're well brother 🙏

Always good to see, that pros are humans to and say things like „you’re basically on Top Rope“ or „you’re on short leash“. Makes them feel not as crazy as in the movies. Especially a bad ass like Cedar.

"Longest route ever built?" Not sure about that. Janja Garnbret and Domen Škofic climbed a 360 meter, 13 pitch route on the chimney of the Trbovlje Power Station in Slovenia. This dam is 220 meters tall. So, smaller than Garnbret's route.

does that count though, it was just climbing ladders...

Magnus, its always fun for me to see you ramp up the intensity in situations like this. You manage it well with your verbal back and forth, but its so obvious how fierce a competitor you are, and how determined you were to have a clean climb. You are so in your element at times like this. This is my favorite "Magnus" type of video, it reminds me of how world class athletes are different from the rest of us. I still think you should swim the English Channel.

I have pretty severe ADHD and even with medication I find myself switching from video to video, channel to channel and from video app to video app so frequently I barely get to know any KZfaqrs past watching maybe two or three of their videos (there are exceptions to this of course) I didn't give a crap about or know anything about climbing a month ago and now I'm sat there like "damn that's a really gnarly 7C+ bro" while watching one of your videos, lmao. Nobody else, even in areas that I've been interested in since I was a kid can keep me focused for so long over so many videos on one subject. Your climbing is amazing Magnus for sure, but we're all here for your subtle yet hilarious personality. Video quality is absolutely amazing too, really great content!

Watching Stefano's video first when they do it in extreme quick fashion I was like, ok, seems doable, then I saw you guys working through the moves and I was blown away by how hard it actually is. We, normal human beings, do not understand sometimes that even up top there are differences in skill. And I don't mean it in a bad way. I was thinking that people at your level are pretty much close to each other, then I saw both videos and can say that there's plenty of differences still up top 💪
