Dude no joke I would love to see the development of this game! I Would be more than willing to provide gameplay advice and help work on this into a fully produced game. I think in order to overcome the sequential progression of gameplay, you should maybe try testing after-battle effects that activate when a battle is finished on certain battlefields that dynamicly changes up the battlefield itself for the next battles that occur in that zone again. Also try testing with having 2 monster zones per lane with different arrow positions like right and left so that positioning matters. Lastly maybe try adding quick effects like in yugioh or instants from magic.

You might have to add a second card type after all. Something you can play during the battle, after units have been revealed, to change the outcome. Then players have to make decisions on which battles are worth saving with these cards and which units they can afford to lose.

NaNDeck is how I prototype games. It's a little program that can turn a google sheet (as seen in the video) into cards by putting specific information in the right places. There's a channel called Ludo Lodge that has a pretty good tutorial on how to use it. The frame I got by feeding the prototype card "frame" into the midjourny AI until it gave me something I could clean up in photoshop (section starting at 10:57 in the video).

Hahaha, recently learned "Marvel SNAP" and now your TCG (and apparently a Warhammer game I didn't know existed).. the whole "3-Battlefield-control" game idea must be more common than I admit to realize.. Air, Land and Sea is one of my favorite small games, and BattleTech's speed is something completely underused. Also, doesn't the Star Wars CCG use "Fate" instead of Dice as well? Love the games from those eras. Anyway, cool concept! Great to hear it did well.
@CardGameCrypt7 ай бұрын
Yeah the dice roll in this game is kinda like Fate or Blast Destiny (Megaman NT Warrior). Decipher really liked that mechanic.
@ChrisSolisGCFOX7 ай бұрын
If you love that mechanic, check out a game called Space Lion: Divide and Conquer. Its Snap + Starcraft in theme.

I like this concept alot . In Marvel Snap the Areas have a similar set up. you should have the Area be a mystery and then each turn flip one over to reveal a different effect from each area, adding some Randomness to the game to give it some surprise. Like you play a unit on a random area so then later in the game when that area gets revealed it actually comes in clutch or Dooms the cards that were put there. Something like that.

Looks like a decent start I think for something bigger. I know I've played some self-contained card games with some similar ideas-fighting over a few locations/goal cards and playing cards facedown to be revealed later. Actually, the new Star Wars Rivals has some slightly similar mechanics here. compositing idea is definitely interesting as well. I would just recommend opening it up for wider playtesting and see where it goes. Also, I am confused on why it feels deterministic. It seems like there is a lot hidden information. Is the issue that everything at one location in flipped up all at once and can just be mathed out?
@CardGameCrypt7 ай бұрын
Yeah pretty much that. Once the battle starts, there are no more tricks. There are definitely tricks before that though (the face down cards at the battlefields).
@TSDreamCreative7 ай бұрын
@@CardGameCrypt gotcha. I think an easy solution would be that not every is a Bot and you have "trap" cards that resolve when flipped. Or trap abilities. Could also resolve the locations in a random order, so effects might not always be optimal.
