You should've spliced in James' voice chat from Myk's stream to show how big of a difference between composition there were between these two players. Coney was absolutely locked in the whole match, just laser focused and not saying a word or displaying much emotion while at the same time James was just constantly blabbering nervously, getting frustrated and eating major mental damage from every small mistake he did as well as dropping easy and clear punishes he should've known and be able to hit. We all know James has some history with getting emotional over Tekken, but still for a veteran like him being reduced to this level against a relative newcomer like Coney in a competitive enviroment is quite striking. Just goes to show how big of an impact the mental aspect has into one's gameplay even at this level.

Coney isn't new to competition. And iirc he has played Tekken (?) just not competitively. Coney is at or about a bit better than the common player (Ranked or players who at least follow Competition) and is competent. The YT attitude fools many. But he can go in FGs

I think my favorite story that came out of all this happened in the absolute beginner matches. From finals day, watch Doki vs Esam, then Eskay vs Esam, then Eskay vs Doki. Three very different kinds of beginners clashing in the craziest way.

Well, don't fall for the hype,. Yes James Chen has played fighting games for 20+ years, but Tekken 8 is only like 4 months old. Older players take longer to get good at a new system, but younger players brains are more fluid, so that they can learn new concepts, literally by watching someone else do it once. We won't really know who are the good players and who are the frauds in Tekken 8 for at least another 6 - 8 months.

Once again, Tekken does not have "a thousand moves per character" it's not even the series with the most moves per character, that would be Soulcalibur. Literally more than half the cast of SCVI had more moves than King did in Tekken 7 so can we PLEASE stop this misinformation?

@@zachang8332 I disagree, the meme ALWAYS comes up when talking about Tekken by implying that it's *the* hardest game *because* of the number of moves and despite having MORE moves there is no meme about the number of moves in Soulcalibur being ungodly. It's dishonest when Harada advertizes Tekken 8 by boasting about King having 'the most moves of any fighting game character' when it's *still* less than 11 characters with longer movelists in SCVI... You've heard about King having the Guinness Record for most moves for a fighting game character, right? Well guess what? That's ALSO wrong. Harada literally paid for Guinness to include 'Most moves for a *Tekken* character' in their World Records (which makes sense since Guinness is a PR firm that literally makes up records for paying clients).
