Күн бұрынToday I try to speak Greek. I looked up some of the most difficult greek words and my friend Theoni ( / theoni.bekiari ) helped me out :)
I this Series, "Let's Try to Speak..." I want to explore and have fun with different languages from all over Europe, and perhaps even the rest of the world. While I was exploring different European countries I realized that the language is such a big part of it and it's also just a lot of fun.

"Ελπίδα" hard to pronounce? Try "αποστρατιωτικοποιημένος".

Γειά as a greeting for a new comer or a farewell comes from the word υγεία. Originally it' s a wish for (good) health. Also many of the chosen words are compound such as ευτυχία ( ευ- good, τυχια

You didn't put the word for hope (ελπίδα) on the screen you put the previous word for hiccup (λοξιγκας) instead

Actually the etymology and the meaning of the word ευτυχία who comes from ευ + τύχη and it means to have a good luck (when ever see a word start with "ευ" it means something good or something to be better).fun fact , for the idea of ultimate happiness we use the word ευδαιμονία and the best part its the etymology of this word , ευ+δαίμονας (δαίμονας it means demon who have this word as origin) and it means to be ok or better than your person demon , this is the way of happiness. Etymology its the true power of Greek language, not only because have rules and sounds good , but because its a just a tool for the philosophy who never die and always evolve.
