Girlie people don't dislike Shein as a company because of the quality. It's cheap so the quality was always going to be hit or miss. It really just comes across like you have no defense for any serious Shein criticism like the child labor or environmental waste. It sounded defensive and girl if you're so upset from getting these comments about Shein then theres definitely other companies you can cover instead.

i agree she's way too defensive, because she doesn't actually understand what she's saying and just thinks she has to save her image or something. but, objectively, she has a point. can anyone in the comments guarantee that they haven't bought new things from any "regular" western clothing brand within the last 20 years or so? if not, they've already overpaid for child & slave labor just like any other shein customer. the only real difference is price & who the slaves are. western companies used to outsource mostly to south asia, and now they use a lot of refugee labor in worse-off european and african countries, and shein seems to use factories mostly within china (or all of asia). so you can pick the race of the slaves, and you can pick whether you overpay a lot or just a little... if you don't want to overpay for slave clothing, you can ONLY thrift, sew for yourself or support very rare ethical small business. (small are also the only sizes you will find, but that's another story lmao) and i'm not even really mentioning the people who NEED to look at price.

Defending SHEIN is insane but TBH if I were buying clothes that I knew wouldn’t be my cup of tea or be my usual style I wouldn’t want to spend a ton of money either so naturally I see why she would choose SHEIN. Not to mention Shein is probably the most accessible store for this type of aesthetic as well. The mere concept of buying a bunch of clothes just to try a new aesthetic or trend throws conscious consumerism out the window, especially since most of her content and career is just that. And Fei, the issue most people have with SHEIN is not just the quality, but the insane carbon footprint the company produces and ethical misconduct it’s been accused of. I think we all realized that this “haul culture” was doing more harm than good and compared to other fast fashion brands, SHEIN is one of the biggest culprits for overconsumption as the prices are so low even compared to Forever21, Zara, H&M etc (although these brands have other issues as well like greenwashing) that you feel less guilty for disposing of it or donating it to thrift stores that are already full of similar products. The best thing that could come from her videos is if her videos helps others with similar body shapes and interests make conscious, informed purchases by having a real example of how these clothes may look so they aren’t playing the guessing game with every purchase just for the items to not fit or be of bad quality and end up in the landfills. I encourage those who use her videos as an example for their own purchases make better, responsible decisions when shopping🙏

How come you say something on this video but not on all the other ones? Literally every brand, no matter how luxurious, treats their workers like trash and produces clothing in an unethical way. Yes, even if it says it's made in the US, it's really not. It still comes from china and gets distributed from a checkpoint to multiple shops. The "Made in US" part is merely the repackaging of the goods. The only way you could ever *not* support these is if you made all your clothes yourself. Guess we all gotta learn how to sew now 😭

Fei as many other comments already mentioned the issues with supportung shein i want to add that its frustrating because its not like youre buying one or two items from shein because its all you can afford. You have the resources to buy from ethical shops yet you choose not too, thats what really bothers me about tou continuing to use shein and temu. Being able to do multiple clothing hauls a month is a luxury, you arent using those sites as a necessity.

While it may be true that many fast fashion brands use the same manufacturers as SHEIN, and that is a big issue, an even bigger issue is the sheer volume of garments that SHEIN produces. They release up to 10,000 new garments a day. One day, 10k new designs. The amount of carbon and waste SHEIN produces makes ZARA look like a little mom and pop boutique. Please do better.

Y‘all… I know Feii probably has the recourses to buy clothes that aren‘t fast fashion, however, some of us don‘t. I personally want to be able to own more than one sweatshirt and since fast fashion is less expensive, that seems to be one of the only ways for me to comfortably shop. I hate how people will absolutely DESTROY you when you mention that you buy fast fashion… I shop at H&M because it‘s cheaper, I‘m not a rich b*tch - it‘s none of your concern either way. Lolita isn’t plus size friendly for the most part, she’d have to buy brand or second hand and that would take a long time. The Lolita community also greatly denounces the use of SHEIN and fast fashion in general for main pieces. So if she did a video using it, she’d get ripped to shreds by the community. (Yes, this recently happened to someone else) Best way to go about this would be to contact a plus size Lolita (lovely lor is the first person to come to mind) or a local Lolita community and see if they’d be open to letting her borrow pieces and/or teaching her about Lolita and helping her out. This would keep her from buying a bunch of crap that would end up in the landfill, while helping educate an audience that’s new to Lolita Fashion.

Hey Fei! I would like to see for pieces you do love, what you would add to style it further to accommodate them for your body shape. Maybe not enough content footage for a vid but maybe a short / reel showing like how it’s styled originally vs. how you styled it to make it look great on you. Because I see all of the potential for you Fei!! …. Off topic, but I am super picky when it comes to shopping for my body type because I already know what styles to stay away from. Even when something is in ‘Trend’, if I know it’s not for my body shape, I stay away! Fei, love your channel but I have some constructive criticism. To be honest, all of your fashion choices seem to cater to kpop inspired clothes in which the fits aren’t very flattering for many body types! So like, still on the first outfit with "the diaper" and honestly like, it doesn't look BAD, it's just not great in white. 😂 That may be personal preference, but I feel like if you dyed it it would deeefinitely take it away from the "diaper" esthetic, and give way to a really cute little short!

You can get a lot of pieces cheaply but these were not flattering at all. The main reason being the fabrics and attention to pattern making are poor quality. It is better to hunt down quality basics that are well made instead of jumping on board with trends. I have assemble a really well fitted closet over the years by going to thrift stores or TJ Maxx and buying from sites like Gilt and Nordstrom Rack. Also get a small garment steamer. Takes less time that ironing and refreshes your outfit making you appear more polished even on the cheap. I have videos on my channel of my Gilt and New York and Company hauls for a more polished look.

shein has really increased in quality, and you're correct that the factories they're using can easily be morally compared to any western brand's production, but it's still not 100% right to say everyone uses "the same factories"... because shein really doesn't. in a way, they do what western companies do, but more efficiently. and they now have a lot of money that used to be in western pockets. that's the real reason you mostly hear negative mainstream stories about them specifically. but you're clearly asian and you even said you were from china once, so i don't have to tell you that while china is a dystopian hellhole polictically, the west is just as "evil" with their capitalism and it's really just a propaganda war.

everything about our western capitalism ever since the 90s/00s has been based on slave labor. shein gets disproportional criticism because they pissed off the leader of the free world. and i'm not saying what she's doing is morally perfect. but i'm saying she could be buying new inditex/h&m/urban outfitters/etc clothes with designs that she will throw away in 1 month and restart the cycle all over again, or she could be buying shein clothes. the only difference is who the money goes to. slave labor and waste would've led the fashion world to what shein just accelerated, and really anyone could've been the first to do it on that scale and be super successful, it's a product of our world not shein's fault for being uber efficient.

Almost everything the average person is buying is made by people working in unethical conditions. 🤷‍♀️ side note she looked great in almost every outfit.. this might be her aesthetic lol.
