Fun fact: Nelson lose one of his arms during in those isles, Drake didn't have luck raiding them neither 250 years before. It's quite rare that happened considering the Spanish didn't defend that well their other isles.

I was just doing the same concept, except I was incorporating the Kingdom of Mann. Lots of good synergies between Vikings, canaries and Mann, very fun to play and to watch.

Didn't know that Hastein was a Dane, but makes sense considering that the Swedes were more into trading and playing tall, which created a foundation for expanding the success of Sweden later on. The Danes were big on colonization and the Norwegian vikings generally explored and colonized unsettled lands although Cork and Dublin were colonized by Norwegians, or at least ended up speaking western old Norse.
