Would be cool if the really tall guy could sense the ceiling above him and duck accordingly. So he can not only fit through tiny spaces, but can also crouch in tighter caves -- then stand up when he has room.

no players nearby it folds itself up into a block/two and texture changes to match surrounding blocks and lighting. if it surprises you it's gaze paralyzes you in fear preventing you from moving for a few seconds and plays an increasing faster heart beat sound effect. one of it's attacks wraps itself around you slowing you and slowly damaging you similarly to a redead from zelda. all the while it folds it's head down in front of you to look at you, the player.

I think if you had much more time to cook, the stalker could’ve easily been the scariest among the trio. One could argue that it’s just “lanky guy” and “creepy smile” monster number 9999, but I think this monster makes those two monster tropes work well by outright taking those features to it’s logical conclusion! Instead of merely being a foot or twice your height, the Stalker is instead exceedingly tall, likely exceeding the average players house in height inspite of being in a cave, giving them an extremely unnatural vibe. The fact that they’re completely shadowy instead of pale bone white also adds to their design, as you can just about but not quite see them walking… reaching out on singular, yet excessively long arm. That constant cheeky smile from them and their casual walking adds to the whole design, as it feels like unlike all the other mobs, the Stalker is merely just 100% playing with you, with how it reaches it’s hands out and slowly strides towards you with the biggest asshole grin one could think of! I think It gives them a unique, creepy character.

This is not a mod but just a custom model showcase. They are vanilla mobs with custom sounds and models. That's it. There's not a cutom AI or spawning system for any of them, it's not an actual mod you can get and play. It's basically just for the video, there's a reason there's no download link.

They could make an actual really good mod (probably) if they wanted to, but why do it when you can just apply the models to some random mob and make a dumb video about it that will pay more? Though to be fair, at least they didn't mention in the title anything that is a lie, techinically, he did just make mob models based on certain cave sounds which is exactly what the title says, but I think everyone expects something else anyways.

I feel like no. 3 was the best: A creature that can chase you through walls is annoying (Think of the reaper from Lycanites Mobs, or the Vexes from Vanilla) But a creature that can mine straight towards you is absolutely terrifying; it takes something that only the player should do, and uses it against them.

The second monster had so much potential! I've noticed he only has one fully formed arm, maybe you could make him spawn the other arm as a new monster. Like he grows back his arm, tears it up and makes it chase you.

or that is his arm regrowing and have the orginal as its own monster roaming across walls and ceilings to grab on to your head/throat. could have it so it temporarily takes some of your hunger bar when it hurts you to represent it trying to choke you with the reason it doesnt instakill you and there isnt a struggle mode is cause your character auto throws it off and when you die its cause you no longer had the strength to pry it off

I feel like Mojang should spend more time making caves scarier to reflect what solo caving is like in real life. The reason why caves are scary is because there is only one or two exits. You can’t make yourself more room in the cave or dig to the surface. You are trapped in a dark, damp, echoey, laberynth that consists of twisted crawl spaces and tight passages. I feel like that is what the Minecraft sounds are trying to get you to feel, that feeling of utter dread as you are trapped underground with your only escape being a long and slow trek in the dark looking for where you came from.

Wish we could have actually seen them from the victim's perspective more... And I feel like the blindness actually counteracts the fear factor in a strange sort of way, since you can barely see the terrifying creature that's chasing you. That's why the darkness effect the Warden uses flickers the way it does, so that you can still see the monster while having your senses disoriented. The tall lanky one is by far my favorite... If you could have polished out the issues with its hands it would have been amazing!

Honestly if you had more time I’d suggest a few more features for the “Cave Trio” “Haunt”/Cave2 noise monster should never actually be able to hurt or kill you. Like it’s a snow golem but a lot worse. It blinds and makes you scared- but it never can kill you. It’s just setting you up for the other two monsters to turn you to disgusting gibs deep in the mine. However I do like what your friend suggested and think it should be driven away from the light. I actually like the idea that all of them could be driven away by light. These aren’t just monsters. They’re lessons in making sure you mine safe and prepared. “Stalk”/Cave5 noise monster should definitely keep its creep and lean look. It’s good. “Stalk” and “Haunt” I feel would be excessively terrifying if they spawned together or in conjunction with one another, perhaps after being blinded that’s when Stalk can go in for the kill, or Haunt sings a song of other cave sounds and it’s that horrifying song that Cave Noise 5 is hidden within- allowing Stalk to come in soon afterwards. “Brute”/Cave8 noise monster- the block breaking is a cool idea. But I feel it should only be able to break blocks similar to what the Creeper can/limit what it can break- like only stone and ores. Or if it can break blocks- it should always drop the blocks mined like they were mined with a pickaxe. Nothing is more infuriating than spotting diamonds or some other rare ore vein and losing them through some means not under your control. And Minecraft is a game all about you controlling the world- at least that’s Mojangs design philosophy.

Fun fact: that are Bedrock edition mod, because it has paper doll at top left side screen and the chat position are in above your screen instead below. Meaning you can playing it on any devices with that mod, but ofc PC are the best experience playing with it.

These monsters are really cool, especially the thing with the hands reaching through holes is such a scary fun concept. If they actually existed in Minecraft, I'd never go into a cave, EVER. Seeing the first one's glowing eyes then it quickly floats toward me would make me close the game in fear lol. Well done!

Tbh that second one despite looking so good simply felt like a letdown. All that time took to add those animations and the only one that actually she gets showed is it's attack and walking animations. I loved the idea on hands reaching out to grab you and spawn him in.

@@JoshBlueMoon5 while I don't know how the code work, can you do that if it sensor sense that there is a one block blocking the paths to the players (if it had like one to eight space of blocks to activate it) that it's would then do that peeking looking animation? If it can't reach for the player, it's would go somewhere else after losing interest, then going to the darkest area that doesn't have light or the lowest amount of light.

The second one was a really interesting design. I would love to see a full mod with ability to reach into small spaces fully fleshed out. It would probably work better as a surface mob, spawning in wide open biomes like plains (at night of course), and with the ability to open doors to make it work against shelters. Very cool idea, shame you didn't have time to finish it.

I love this idea, the thought of the cave sounds signifying an actual enemy that's trying to find you is terrifying. I would love to see the same concept applied to the ocean sounds too. Quick concept for the ghost mob, what if instead of becoming immediately hostile, it gives you a debuff that increases intensity every time one stage wears off. At stage one it just haunts you, staying a distance away and watching you, then at stage two it starts attacking you, it's invulnerable but backs away every time you hit it, then for every stage after that it becomes more hostile and more persistent, until it simply won't leave you alone, and the only way to remove the debuff is to go above a certain Y level, giving you a sense of urgency to leave the cave once you realize you're being followed. There could also be some alternative ways to deal with it so it wouldn't be too annoying, like eating a golden apple to cure yourself or making it killable if you have smite on your weapon

You should make it so the ghost is only hostile in complete darkness and will flee the light, it should drop the phantom membrane. The stalker would benefit from the opposite, he would stop his stalk if you're in complete darkness and eventually despawn, crawling inside a crevice. The miner should only break blocks when he's berserk and give him a time limit, then after he should besusceptible to damage.

i am not sure how easy it is to do that since i am not familiar with creating mods for minecraft but a suggestion for the second monster to make it really terrifying: it starts off as a black thing with only white glowing eyes just stalking the player in the dark but not attacking, as soon as the player attacks it or stays too long looking at it, a white smile appears, the monster becomes extremely fast, it starts to run at the player with intention to kill, twisting its head very fast while trying to maintain eye contact, putting the whole body forward and releasing a horrible screech that sounds like a distorted scream as if the creature was in pure pain, hatred and desperation

Hey i really loved this idea and wanted to add some of my thoughts on top of it. I understand it’s ambitious however its more for just some ideas/brainstorming to make the mobs feel more terrifying. Here are some i came up with: Ghost: First encounter- Exact same behavior as before however things change after your first visit. Condition A: The next time you attempt to enter a cave he will appear (randomly) after you venture down a bit. (Possibly on a timer after you enter a cave or leave a light source) Condition B: If you attempt to sleep he will sometimes jump out at you. (Can be stopped by crafting nightlight, an item then can be crafted with a torch and possibly sculk material (doesn’t have to be sculk, just something that requires some progression so its not so easy to prevent)) Sub conditions: He has more of a tendency to jump out at you if you are unprepared and or alone (not near players or pets) (doesn’t possess a certain decimal of armor or have certain weapons in inventory) Stalker (my personal favorite): He would have 3 stages- Stage 1- Stage 1a: stalker appears in the corner of your eye as you pan away from it, you then look back only to see its gone. Stage 1b: Given enough time to stalk he then appears to just stand there and stare at you from a distance. If you get too close before he vanishes, stage 3 starts. Stage 2- In stage 2 he begins poking his head out of holes and cracks to look for you. If he sees you he uses his long arm to try to grab you. This could start a mini chase scene where his arm continues to attempt to grab you though holes as you run. Stage 3- After a period of unsuccess he will then crawl out of a hole and begin directly chasing you. Or he will randomly round the corner and stage 3 begins. First he lets out a screech and then he gets on all (threes?) and begins to gallop/limp towards you all while screaming. Not sure if im married to the idea of him galloping towards you but he should chase in some way after the build up. I also still like the idea of him moving slowly yet steadily like he did in the video. Miner: Same behavior except he can smash though blocks to get down to you (maybe 2 at a time?) Possibly could disguise as a vein of emerald to fool player. (Emeralds usually don’t spawn in veins so pay attention) By no means am i requesting these to be added im only adding my input, this is a really good mod and has a lot of potential so if you do pursue it more here are some ideas you could stem off of. you should make the ghost flee when stared at for too long and only approach when it is close enough to the player and to make it stop haunting you you need to be exposed to extremely bright light like sunlight

I don't feel all the cave sound monsters should be hostile. I think the stalker one should have been a passive mob which is just curious about you but it wouldn't attack unless you hit it.

Slightly different opinion but I feel like cave mobs should feel related to the noise that spawn them because it feels silly that the mob that represents cave sound 2 (angelic voice that was used for the first mob) is hostile when the sound itself is very hard to argue and say that it is a scary noise, and even then the worst thing you can really say is that the noise sounds eerie, but not scary (unless you interpret it as a siren call but I don’t feel like going into how that would work in a CAVE environment). Some examples I wanted to share: the mob that represents the cave sound 1 would not be that scary and perhaps neutral (it would have a weird/unsettling appearance but neutral) because the sound it represents isn’t all that scary, the mob that represents cave sound 17 being horrific fight or flight scenarios (scary appearance, disturbing mechanic and may or may not be fast/have high attack power) because the sound it represents would actually be horrifying if you were underground while hearing it and the mob that represents cave sound 2 being straight up friendly/helpful because of the harmonious nature of the sound and how angels are associated to be good

6:10 first of all how dare you, I hate that, SO much, but I also love that, SO much... that subtle horror of seeing an impossibly long arm reach out and feel around for you is terrifying. I just wish you had the time to properly get that to work. If I was just walking through a cave and saw that? I'd stick with stone tools for the rest of my days, I mean who needs iron or diamonds anyway!?

Yes i did! I deleted for a couple of reasons: it had alot of negativity with the intro and title, saying that something ''sucks'' in such a cold way can cause negative feelings on viewers wich i don't want, it wasn't delivered in the best way. I also don't think it really was super interesting, i could have spent more time making cool features to show, instead, the video felt rushed and boring to watch and the analytics showed that.

I strongly recommend you a part 2 of this video where these 3 creatures have their remake and not just done in 1 day, frankly if this was done in 1 day what they could become if you spend time, creativity and dedication to make these 3 beings even more terrifying, they have a lot of potential involving this to become one of the best horror mods along with cave dweller it would be spectacular I really liked it. A bit more work and updating, you can make these guys way creepier. If the ghost-like one would hide in the walls as soon as the player tries to look for it, becoming more aggressive after the first sneak attack that gives blindness would be really terrifying. Fully animating the crouching and reaching for you in tight spaces for the tall lanky one armed dude would be epic. For the miner, slow down the speed at which he breaks blocks and add a few extra moves like him ripping a chunk of stone out of the ground and yeeting it at the player if they are too far out of it's melee range or give him a huge broken pickaxe as a weapon. All in all, this has some awesome potential. Combine this trio with the cave dweller too and going mining will become a lot more anxiety inducing.

Name/Lore idea for the first one since you came up with lore for the third one. The Redstone Wraith - a malevolent spirit that serves as a lingering remnant of a wanderer who died deep underground. It haunts the caves of the Minecraft world and will kill any player it finds as a twisted warning of what happens when one ventures too deep underground. Its voice serves as a form of echolocation. If you can hear it... _it knows where you are._ The Redstone Wraith does not behave entirely aggressively, however, as though a small semblance of humanity remains within.

These mobs are great and could be amazing with some refining i really hope you pick up this mod again, my only gripe with this is ballance which is the same problem i have the cave dweller(for exemple the haunting effect from the ghost kinda means if you get hit once your just screwed until you die or do whatever else you need to clear it, making it so the effect only activates once or has a time limit would add something i feel but thats just what i think) its a hard line if you make it too weak and the player realizes that it will lose its scariness factor immediately but if its too powerful it becomes a gimmick you play once with yourself or your friend's and then forget because you cant seriously think about adding to a modpack, since it makes mining a pain and the 5'th time you get killed by it without being able to do anything it still loses its scariness factor.

To clarify I still think these mobs are great but I just can't imagine playing with this mod more than once or twice because a impossible to fight monster just losses its touch over time and if it was more balanced it could be a great mechanic to add to the game In a modpack.

Ps also the last mob is extremely scary but you might want to change the way the block destruction mechanic works since if it destroyed something you made you would just be sad and it does a lot more damage than a creeper.

That last one is straight up nightmare fuel because its AI makes it seem like its actually hunting the player, stalking you while tunneling all around you.

Thanks for subbing!! Ill probably release it for download in the future when i have the time to fix and improve all monsters, they have tons of problems that the video doesn't show. And yes the creatures have names, although they were just placeholders: -The first is called ''Seraph'' because the initial idea was to make it similar to the weeping angels from Doctor Who -The second is called ''Weirdo''. Why? idk lol -And the last one is ''The Miner''

Miner is the scariest - at least in the context of Minecraft. Normally only you can break blocks (with the exception of the Ender Dragon) which gives you the comfort of knowing you can build a safe space for yourself. The Miner makes it so there is no safety. I'd say the Stalker is my favorite though. If you had the time (and patience) to get it working, that would be an awesome mob. I think the head design works against it a little, more of a "designed to look scary" than organically scary because it's stalking you, but everything else is extremely cool and very creepy. The Haunter just looks like it'd be frustrating to deal with. Vexes are annoying - vexing, one might say - and the fact that it's basically just a more persistent Vex that also blinds you means I hate it by default. Great design though!

something creepy would be if mojang added something like this but didnt say anything about it, and leaving it out of the update description, making it so that if you encounter it you think your game is haunted or something also instead of just continuously attacking it would always do half your health, so if your at all ten hearts, you go down to 5, or if you have 1 heart left, you go down to half a heart, then disappear.

The ghost seems fine to me. The tall stalker could be fixed by making it less tall, and then the animation you wanted for it would work. The miner brute I think is overpowered. It should have its mining ability slowed down. Right now it mines so fast that it walks through solid stone, but this only causes it to miss the player most of the time because it's not following the existing tunnels. Smart players will also be able to exploit its fast mining ability by using it to mine for them and collecting the blocks while avoiding getting killed. Maybe give it the ability to make cobblestone walls behind it to trap the player.
