yeah, the beginning-of-game lag happens to me as well. I think it's due to the game downloading a cache of the shadows and hq textures of the map in the background each game. once it finishes it levels out. also, to fix the grainy look of your game, change the anti-aliasing from SMAA to Filmic. that fixed it for me.

So for your Gold and Platinum camos to shine properly, gotta turn up the Screen Space Shadows to High, and Screen Space Reflections to High. That's what I did to get it to look as good as everyone else. Also Texture Resolution as high as it'll go. Everything else I have set to low or off. Hopefully this helps ya TKO! Keep doin' what ya do

Riot shield is so fun to use, me and my friends run it and we each use either stuns or smokes and we also equip the smoke drop field upgrade. It's a good change of pace since we used to always just sweat to win but winning with shields is hilarious

The lag at the beginning of some matches happens a lot to me. The "scarab looking thing" is the cluster mine scorestreak you chuck it down and it triggers spewing out nades in 4 directions it covers the ground

If you try this on tier 1 it's super easy since 1 hit kills with the shield! Love this setup. Been doing the same setup for a month or so and got it to platinum. And just discovered this page today. Sweet job!

I get the same early lag. The more games I play the smoother the beginnings are. Ingame downloading resources probably the cause? Haven't bothered disabling it to test.

I love that video you got that platinum camo fast as hell and literry the combat knife almost have like a hitmarker too , because when i tried to get the combat knife gold sometimes it doesn't register the knifing

I find that pushing with the shield, then with quick hands swap to the knife when they try to run, can't outrun the knife and their back is towards you, so cheaky.

Hey Tko small tip for the shield that ive learned.. if you try to get right up in someones face as they are shooting you, dont push as far into them as you can between that first and second bash. Bash and then wait a half second and kinda reposition then bash again. This only matters if they are firing at you and touching you. Reason is because in between that first and second bash, they can shoot around your shield and kill you. Its gotten me killed abunch of times until i figured this out. Bash, back up a touch/reposition, then bash again.

Hey @TheseKnivesOnly I noticed a trick for movement that if you melee after a Tactical Sprint you can start Tac Sprinting again; hope this help you out!

For me the first half of the game was laggy too, i switched my game from my hard drive to my ssd and that fixed it seems like a loading issue that causes it. faster storage seems to fix it

yes sometimes the game gets super laggy and then it is just magically fine. wierdest bug ive encountered tho was a lobby where noone got their loadout so everyone was running around with a pistol

The beginning of the match lag has been a thing since MW2019. You’ll start off with a bunch of hitmarkers and no kills, then like 3 or 4 minutes in you start earning all your streak rewards. That’s why it’s pointless rage quitting because the connection will balance out.

Question about the platinum camo challenge, do kills within 10 sec end with death, and do things like quads (4ks) count as two points towards the challenges? I work from 4am to 8pm, so it's hard to get tome to play, got launchers platinum and working on melee to get it over with lol

For the textures try reinstalling shaders, I forget which option its under but it fixed mine, gold was just mustard its now shiny again.

i’m having the same issue at the start of games, ping goes down after a bit and i’m fine but it pisses me off at the start of EVERY game. sometimes it’s an entire lobby when i usually bounce down to like 30 ping after a few minutes

I would reccomend switching over to Flash grenades. Right now, so many people use battle hardened that stun grenades are useless. With flashes it will at least still blind them for a good second.

The lag is caused by texture streaming, you can turn it of in the settings. It's shitty that you can't just store the high res textures locally.

Idk if you record every match you play but I had no issues with lag or stutter for the first 55 levels. Just started recording game play for videos on my PC & I'm having similar issues to you now.

I'm having the same lag problem on PC I've tried everything but the best results to somewhat fix it is downgrading your graphics to standard or low it'll help out ah bunch but still have that lag at the beginning.
