You should definitely keep trying this to see if you can get good quality prints with it that would be amazing lol

Part of the problem with using industrially recycled PET bottles is that they rarely, if ever, remove the labels or adhesive. It's all just ground up, washed, blended and then extruded. Good enough for tying off grapes but not good enough for the precision we want in 3d printing. It might be ok with a 1mm or 1.2mm nozzle but that's about it.

Looks good enough for functional prints, as long as I can get it in black. 90%+ off is hard to beat

Well this is an interesting idea. Looked it up and saw there is a thicker wire then 1.75 available. I'm thinking, could we pulltrude such thicker wire into propper(ish) filament, perhaps it would help rid of inconsistent in the wire.

I need more info about this Agricultural PET filament as I used the name and all and nothing comes up on the internet or Amazon in the USA! Please provide any information possible of producers and wholesalers as well as most in the USA and Europe do not have as good access to Indian products.

what do you think the effect of processing the agriculture wire through a pullstrusion unit (like the people who make PET filament from bottles) would have on the final print? excellent vid thank you

Ohh great idea. This should be tested! btw it would be great if the subtitles could be turned off. Not really needed and I would prefer to watch without them distracting me.

Pretty interesting. I had heard that moisture can have a permanent negative effect on filament, even when fully dried. I wonder if you ran it through a hot 1.75mm nozzle first, if it would re-melt, and thus revitalize the PET.

Try looking into PET packing straps that are 15mm and cutting them into 8mm strips to make into filament.

Leaving the heated bed on for hours, days, even weeks will not damage it. What do you think happens when you have a single print that takes 8 days to complete? Overall amazing video and huge thanks for the tip on agricultural PET

Like some of the others I tried looking this stuff up but was unable to find any in the States, what I did find were some calling it PET/polyester wire but those are two different things right? Also almost all were 2mm+. Did you do any more testing to see if this was worth it for maybe basic simple printing?

There is a latest video on the channel on post processing this filament and I would say it's doesn't worth the time cause the amount brittleness, filament breakage and nozzle clogs make it worthless. But you can still try

@@Creative3DP for the time being I'll take your word for it being not worth it. I just got into 3D printing so I don't exactly need mass kg of filament yet, and I've seen the processing bottles if I really want to play around with it. I'm in the States so not hard to get soda bottles to use from all the neighbors. I've been asking others if they have tried to do 3 smaller strands from the bottles for longer lengths and maybe multi colored, but not sure if the heating will work to to combine them well?

I don't know why my comment is getting deleted , great video bro , if possible you can try (nylon monofilament ) or ( nylon fishing line ) hard to get in North West india , you can get it online but mostly bulk ,cheap nylon filament alternative . Also your end result were great , I think heating it for longer period of time will give results similar to other filament .

how would you deal with the fact that whilst pulling the PET filament from a plastic bottle being hollow resulting in underestrusion?

Can you share the contact information for the company? I have this on order from China but it's virgin PET and I'd like to try recycled material. I have a lot more ideas on this I'd like to collaborate with you on if you're interested. How is best to get in touch?

If you have spare rice, you could potentially remove all the moisture by burying the filament in rice.

Passive drying methods are not as efficient as actively drying in a heated chamber, preferably a specialized one.

You bought it and started printing without drying, it was who knows where , not in a vacuum sealed bag, of course there are going to be bubbles, lol , dry the filament and then do the testing.

@@sapuseven I don’t consider drying filament on the printbed a proper drying method, there is no air circulation, the filament get heated only on one side of it, besides the author lives in the India region which is veeeery wet overall, it’s hot and wet there all the time, even after drying it’s important to keep the filament in the relevant moisture proofed environment, the author does not do that, even the slightest half-drying on the printbed already contributed to a much better quality and less stringing, the results can be improved if he does the process better imho. Best way to measure is to have very precise weights, weight the spool, next weigh the same spool with the filament. Stephan from CNC kitchen proved that regardless of the method be it ultra high amount of silicone, or the vacuum, or the heated chamber, the highest result of them all is reached around the 5! day of drying, so again I see an opportunity to just keep drying actually. The author preoccupied with thr print bed getting damaged after 24 hours of being heated 🙄 that should not happen on a good printer, but alas - the solution is again do the drying the proper way with a specialized hardware or build that hardware himself, the supposed “easy” methods have their limit. Also as the filament is inconsistent and 100% contains impurities it’s important to use just a bigger nozzle, the biggest you may get for such recycled material, there are often included other plastic material with different properties in such , or even pieces of metal and glass, no wonder the nozzle got jammed. Also a higher temperature and more cooling may be necessary. The author did a great job, but still a lot that can be cranked up and dialed in, starting the drying process. But again this video is nice to go to show the hurdles of working with recycled materials. The best other comment actually was the advice to pull-trude the whole thing to give it more uniformity, so again things can be dialed even more. Wishing good luck and much inspiration to the author making new videos and investigating the process.

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, ~1. Corinthians 15:1-4 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: ~2. Peter 1:1 God bless you!
