I’ve often talked on this channel about how well iPhones have lasted me over the years, so today, I decided to put this to the test. I took the iPhone SE - a 4 year old phone, installed the apps I need, and decided to use it as my main phone for a week. In this time I got to try the performance, battery and the camera, and came to some odd conclusions…

I let go of it before apple started measuring battery health lol. Even brand new I wasn’t able to get a full workday out of it but it’s because I work in a very instant message heavy workplace and I think it just couldn’t handle it :(

Yea I really do miss the SE I took an iPhone 7 after the SE and I felt the SE was better The iPhone 7 was a horrible experience after that u upgraded to the Xs

I bought a SE 2016 today after I sell my iPhone 11. I wanted a smaller phone and get my focus more on other things than my smartphone. I think that the limited technology and the smaller size will help that I use my smartphone not so often than regular. I also love how it fits in my hand. I reduced my screentime today from 3 Hous to 45 Minutes. I think I go to the wright direction.

@@coffeeglobetrotter6412 The Batterylife Is not for everyone. If you use you’re phone for one or max two hours per day, you can bring you’re SE over the Day. But with more Screentime it is getting more difficult. It’s definitely not for the poweruser. But I think a poweruse uses other phones.

I miss the white fronts on the iPhones. it was such an iconic look that stood out a lot more from other phones. now a days, with the all screen designs, Iphones blend in more.

I’m a big guy and I love my iPhone SE. I’ve owned it for 4 years now and I don’t think I will be upgrading any time soon. I also don’t want to spend 4 figures on a phone that could do everything I would usually do on my SE. I rather put that money towards a Gibson Les Paul that would lasts my whole lifetime.

I use an s10+ 5g and its absolutely massive, one hand mode helps when I need it but I recently tried my mums old SE and it was so refreshing

I actually find it quite easy to use one-handed and I wouldn't say I have particularly large hands. I think the slim profile of the S10+ helps it with one-handed use.

@@edgarmolinalomeli4767 tbh it not as hard to use one handed as other phones and yeah it's probably because it's slim and light and it fits my hand well, my hands are pretty small. I've only really started using one handed mode after I got a nasty crack which stops me from using the touch screen right at the top where search bars and stuff are so I have to use that a lot now. Luckily i have phone insurance so I won't have to pay hundreds for a screen fix

@@LaStallion Yes definitely. It's still getting 2 more OS updates because of Samsung's new update promise, and it'll get security patch updates for about 4 more years.

I do this often, I have a SE and it is just a pleasure to use. The size and the quality build is just great. The camera is good enough and the battery is good enough. If you want to keep your screen time down without going to a flip phone, the OG SE is a great choice! I am going to fire up mine now. I will do the 7 day challenge myself! Keep up these awesome videos and I love when you break out old tech and prove that a lot of the new stuff is just marketing

My dad has this phone and I picked it up and it was an absolute joy to use. The smaller screen made it so much easier to reach all 4 corners of the screen with ease, especially with one hand. This was Steve Jobs philosophy. To be able to use a phone with one hand. And boy I can really agree with him. -iPhone 7 user

Not even three minutes in and I just heard all I need to know. “Using the phone a lot less”, “found myself reaching for it a lot less”. Yep, that’s exactly what I want. A phone that doesn’t tax my attention and I only need to pick it up for basic needs. This has 100% justified my decision to get one of these.

I love this phone so much, still at my hand as my secondary phone. The phone that i changed its home button and battery on myself during mco. Personally the best design ever made by apple.

This is my phone ! It got the latest OS upgrade. Still very useable. Think you missed the main selling point : if you want a small phone this ticks all the boxes. It is also very cheap, so you are not really investing are you? Otherwise you are spot on battery , keyboard all against it.

I had a Meizu x8 and an iPhone SE, I loved them both so much. As much as I’m an Android guy, iOS is charming enough for me to use the two phones as daily drivers.

I bought this phone this year for the sole purpose of playing pubg in HD without stutter also bcoz of tight budget. and to my surprise this phone still keep up to the latest ios updates.

I've been using the original SE for awhile now as well as I sold my daily driver phone in hopes of getting a new phone down the road. I gotta say the thing that struck me most how much less I'm on my phone now, which is both good and bad actually. Anywho keep up the great content man! Your vids are still as crispy and aesthetically pleasing as when I first saw your channel through your keyboard reviews 😎

Great video! I went from a 5S, to SE, to SE 2020. I refuse to pay more than $300 for a phone! I love the smaller designs anyways. Can’t stand big screens. I have an IPad Air for that.

Yeyy my phone! I'm just really impressed with this thing still holding up in 2020 and is getting ios 14. Runs like a little champ does everything I need... Only let down is the god damn battery life! Despite mine being 88% (which I thought was ok), It drains like the battery doesn't exist! lol Soon as I start watching videos web browsing using maps.. BYE BYE. I have a battery case which helps, But even with 2 1/2 charges sat on back I can only just get through 2 days of average use! I will be upgrading to SE 2nd gen eventually which will be the perfect leap.

I thought my iPhone 11 was broken the other day (thank God it wasn't), but that close call made me think about picking up an older SE as a back up phone. In case I ever DO have to sent my current phone in for repair. Your video just solidified it for me. I think I definitely will now. Thanks!

I bought an iPhone se as a backup phone a couple months ago. My main phone right now is the 11 pro max. Honestly it works really well. Besides getting used to using a small screen again I don’t really have much to complain about. Still works fine even after 4 years

I used this phone as my daily driver for most of the year last year, though I upgraded to a Pixel XL around the time you made this video because 16GB of storage wasn't enough for me and I had been struggling with storage from day 1

I think the battery health was around 91%? I don't remember without checking haha, sorry. Screen time was about 5 hours on before it died I think, and thanks

I just purchased the 12 pro max. But I'm keeping the SE as a backup around the house. It doesn't have a sim in it, so just music, some photos, a few APPs and simple web browsing. It's cool. Even if iOS doesn't support it in the future, my SE1 is the cutest iPhone I've ever owned (Rose gold). Not going to part with it.

BubVisuals just had a gander myself. They aren’t actually as extortionate as I was expecting. Unless you want a sealed one of course then you are looking over 6k. Just maybe try to find a 16gb model. Not sure the 8 would even fit all the apps in this video 😂

Using the SE 1 as a second phone along side my XS Max. At times I find leaving the Max behind when I’m outside and I’m sure I won’t be using the camera or watching any content. Still a great phone performance wise considering it was released 4 years back.

Been using my SE for a few years now, but I'm looking into upgrading to a used iPhone 11 (or maybe 11 pro) when the new iPhone comes out now in the coming month or so, because prices for used phones will mostly likely drop due to over saturation! I'd love a bit bigger screen, but the main thing for me is the camera. The quality is okay on the SE when you're outside, but whenever I'm inside or it's slightly darker it's really bad. Might not be a big deal for some, but I'm trying to get more into KZfaq and instagram and the camera quality is so annoying for me. And also a better battery life would be awesome hahah

I know my videos don’t cater to everyone since everyone likes watching different niches and kinds of videos, but this is the niche I’m in and it’s actually starting to work better now! Eli May have you considered maybe a budget dslr? That might actually be better than a phone upgrade, as even with a pretty cheap setup like a used Panasonic G7, you can get some really good results. I used that when I was trying to grow my channel and I learned a lot by picking that up, so it might be worth considering. Good luck again with your content

Plus/ Max model buyer here, I'm getting over the phablets, i'm considering compact phones for a less tech life.. apple is releasing a iPhone mini (can't wait and will be interesting), the problem with applee compact phones are always the battery life but then I guess it's meant to be used less often and it will fit better

Honestly miss my SE after switching back to Android. I'm the one that prefer smaller screen over big screen! I can still comfortably typing on 4 inches screen without any issues. But that's probably because I've used iPhone 5s for a very long time. SE 1 is also my favorite iPhone ever. Maybe I should switch back ;)
