I understand that Pepsi & Coke have had actual armed conflicts between mercenary groups in the past (Philippines in the 80s or something like that) and they weren't the only ones. It happens more than you think. On a similar note its mentioned in Cyberpunk lore that the central America war that Johnny was in was a sponsored war, it was funded and for the benefit of American corporations.... much like many wars we are involved in today, the Gulf war etc. You say that these types of events in cp2077 are unrealistic but just because they are not publicised or they are spun with heavy bias that doesn't mean they aren't real. . Cyberpunk was, is and was always meant to be a dystopia, a warning from Gen-x to not take the world in this direction. You may have noticed that there is no happy ending in any cyberpunk story; books, films or games. There is no happy life in the world of cyberpunk, hope always gets crushed. You may have access to advanced technology but there is no soul, you are a product to be spent, a thing to be used and discarded and that's at any level of society, rich, poor whatever. No matter how powerful you think you could get the ever consuming city and its despair always wins! This is not a future you would want, it is a future that corporations in their folly are tying to make.

I like how most problems are solved and money to be made through crime that seems to have little consequences

But we can't deny by climbing the corporate ladder via making connection with some what higher style people we have the luxury option of living as a mental construct (engram) in arasaka company and selling our soul and letting go of our pesky human ego goals and dreams becoming a project weponizing , experimenting ,and controling the absolute freedom that is granted to us by universal life force . all aside we also have each charecter belief system and coping mechanism, poverty and corruption, and exaggerated cyber religion ☯️.
