How cute! I’ve had several turtles come in my yard and my grandson and I fed them some lettuce and then they just mosied on their way……😉🤣

I love Turtles!!! my grandson says Tur TLE its so cute the way he says it and he loves them too. We see a lot of Gopher Tortoises here but to him they are all turtles lol. hes a big boy.watch to see if you see any eggs or ground disturbed where there may be a nest. I mean do we know if its a he or she. put some water out if its as hot there as it is here. The little buddy sure moves fast!! never seen one that cruises along like that one does. lol that turtle thinks its at a buffet just wondering around eating what it thinks looks tasty. wonder if its someones pet

aww…So sweet! The way he was walking towards you makes me think he associates people with food. So he must be someone’s pet. They’re great for pulling all your weeds. lol My brother has a few tortoises and turtles. tfs 😍

Very cool and possibly rare sighting. I wonder if it is a gopher tortoise. They sometimes like forests, pastures, and yes even yards. If it is they do dig holes and make burrows and are different than turtles that live in the lake or waters. I know when my husband and I visited Florida several years ago we had the opportunity to see and photograph one. My husband said they are a vulnerable species of concern.

He is like mine. Probably needs some water to bathe in if you have had no rain. They do like weeds and some flowers. He probably belongs to someone. It’s a shame.

Every time we took him out of the yard he would come back in. We did this three times. Finally, we put him on the side of the house next to the woods. If he come back again we will just let him be. =^^=
