I love these shows. This episode was shown a day after my dad died of a heart attack on February 4th 1962.

Nice to see a rare appearance by Michael Rennie. It's hard to find interviews with this fantastic actor.

I remember watching these when I was a kid. It was a good show. Garry Moore had a great morning show during the Golden Age of Television. He was a host/MC for I'VE GOT A SECRET and TO TELL THE TRUTH. He also had one of the great variety shows of the 1960's, and i believe that he discovered Carol Burnett. Michael Rennie was a well known actor of the day, staring in such films as THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and RIDE BEYOND VENGEANCE, as well as THIRD MAN TV series, and a fine TV version of DOCTOR JEKYL AND MR. HYDE. Thanks for rerunning these.

+Michael Maloney I respectfully disagree about the fun part because I found this game show very dull. I think too many Martini-drinkin' producers tried to hitch their wagon to the very successful show What's My Line and pretended there was an element of difference :)

Eventually the same team for the most part produced both parts. Certainly I prefer WML, but I get a kick out of IGAS too. Different strokes....

Life was at a different pace back in those days. I think we were a little easier to please back in those days. Remember we still seeing the world in black-and-white and the TV would come to a close around midnight -- blank screen until 7 am. We only had four channels in San Francisco. It was just a different world back then.

Sort of interesting bit of trivia: Bill Cullen suffered from polio as a child and was in a serious auto accident in the 1930s. The combination made it very difficult for him to walk smoothly-which is why on all the clips available of him, you almost never see him walk more than a step or two at most.

I will always think of Sir Michael Rennie as "Klaatu" because that was his "breakout" role. He also played an invader on "The Invaders."

Ah..., Truly a master of wit, charm, a very intelligent actor way ahead of his time. He was an incredulous wonder to behold. He passed away far to soon for many of his devoted fans. He was a very like-able astute charming man. I especially admired him as 'The Keeper' on the old 'Lost in Space' T.V. series of the mid 1960's. He played his parts acceptionally well. RMA; Bakersfield, CA....

I always enjoy an episode of I've Got a Secret, especially from the 1961-62 season. This season was always weird to me, mainly because they used that upbeat rendition of the theme from "A Summer Place" for that season only. I always wondered why? It was actually pretty good.

Well, it's not a Secret as it was in a bio of Barbara Hutton but Mr Rennie is noted in her diary as coming out of the bathroom "dressed in a rubber suit with a whip in one hand & a jar of vaseline in the other." Fancy stuff for a Yorkshireman!
