Is Harvest Moon Winds of Anthos a good game? I was given an early copy to play and I feel like I can make a solid review on the game! There are so many pros and cons and I try to cover them all in this video to help you make the decision on whether or not to purchase it!
Thankfully, I really think Natsume is headed in the right direction and hopefully this a good sign for the future of the Harvest Moon series.

I'll be picking up, I played One World with my wife and she had a lot of fun with it. She likes story of seasons too but she likes the uniqueness of Harvest Moon.

Well, if they had ported it to PC with Keyboard/Mouse support, I would try it. However, they didn't. That's like porting a PC game to Console, but you can only play with a keyboard. I do hope you enjoy it though. Nice vid.

wonderful review! Also you probably know this but most of the team behind your favorite Harvest Moon game Back to Nature now make Story of Seasons games, its actually the original Harvest Moon! Natsume only owns the name rights so they use the same name to make their own knock offs of sorts to bank on people not knowing but it isnt the same developers or team. I wasnt going to support Natsume but Im so tempted with this one.

Thank you so much! Yes I know, I would love to support both of them, so I’m rooting that they would both do good with their farming sims! ☺️ That’s why I’m so hopeful for the HM series from this point on, it’s not perfect, but definitely a step in the right direction!

@@ashscozycorner This is my first HM since the spilt and so far I am definitely enjoying it. I love the world so far and the music is pretty and calming which really adds for me. I really hope Natsume stays on this kind of path cuz its pretty neat and fairly relaxing to play so I am a fan. I really like how they simplified a lot of things because I have developed cognitive issues after having Covid so its harder for me to play games like I used to (gets overwhelming easily or its hard for me to grasp concepts😭😭) so I am excited to have a fun vast HM game to get into where there is so much to explore and do but isn’t overly complicated. At least so far nothing I need to do has been too complicated!❤

I've been going to bed at 2am every day, putting off so many chores, I am over the "harvest moon" with Winds of Anthos! I tried out one world earlier this month and it was okay, but this, oh my heavens! It is everything I wanted in a cozy game and then some. I'm so glad you made this video, it has lived rent free in my head ever since I watched it. Hope life has slowed down for you in the last month and that everythings okay!

This game has me on the fence, but the empty world, poor mining and many other simple systems really gives the impression the team only cares about the Harvest Moon name. It feels like it's missing a soul. Id love if they update the game.

I haven’t touched a Harvest Moon in years either. I’ve been playing the Mineral Town remake on switch and Pioneers of Olive Town. I had hopes for this one. I think I’ll give it a try.

Great review! If I had seen this before buying the game it would have helped me decide to purchase. There is only really one flaw that drives me crazy and that’s the lack of instructional, general knowledge information which leads me to a gameplay question for you. Can you shed any light on the crop growing symbols? The basic Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter match the calendar so those are clear. But there are sometimes other symbols. The terrain types could use some clarification but what is really confusing me is when there are other season-type icons. For example, Fodder Corn shows the standard Fall leaf but it has a second different leaf… what’s that leaf all about??? Onion seeds show Spring and that same (non-Fall) leaf.

Great review! I’m enjoying the game but I have a few complaints.. for example building the barn.. I have silver ore but when i bring them to the Doc it keep me locked out and I can’t give them to her ? Any help when the game locked me out??

Hmmm, do you mean locks you out of docs lab, or just won’t let you give the silver? I know the silver ore has to be turned into silver first through crafting with doc, so that could be the issue!

@@yolandapermana6642 it's in the mine but won't show up until at least floor 14. you need to use your douse and search for the entrance to the next floor until you find the silver ore ( look for the smaller circle and dig

Oh my goodness I am so sorry for the late reply! I would definitely go with HM winds of anthos, but that’s totally a personal opinion. I didn’t like PoOT and I don’t really like RF, so I think I’m biased 😂

I started Harvest Moon back with the original SNES Harvest Moon. Been chasing that "dragon" ever since. I was able to constantly discover new things and random events, allowing me to play new ways and really feel like I was making my game my own unique experience. So far, I haven't gotten much beyond the wall in WoA, but so far, I'm really missing that connection with the game. I wish it had more customization and personalization. I'm hoping that gets better with future updates, and as I progress further.

I wish she talked about CONSOLE Bricking and the game not even release and it put on TBA untill they fixed the game is what they released to Gamestop , Bestbuy and other store. They had copies and had to return them . MY friend console got Priacy bricked for his switch.

The world being so big & baron is my only concern. Do you feel that the fast travel makes it a non problem? this is the only thing holding me back from getting the game. I’m totally on the fence.

When you get fast travel and like a horse or something it’s not that bad

The fast travel *definitely* changes things. It’s much easier to ignore the barren open world with fast travel and a horse!

Does anyone know how to make grass into animal feed? I have 15 weeds but everytime I try to turn it into feed it doesn’t work, do I need to put the weeds somewhere first? :S

So it takes 20 per 1 animal feed! You’ll get 20, throw them into the maker, and make sure you click make at the bottom (I kept forgetting to click that LOL)

I really enjoyed HM:OW and I can't wait to see what similarities there are (I see the walking/running stamina is back...took me a bit to get used to that in OW)...and what they've improved on! Already got the DLC season pass...I want more crops!!! (have yet to complete OW...there's SO much stuff if you want to 100% it!)

I love the game. It has so much love and detail on everything on it. Thats why im fall for the game in Love. Story is wonderfull. Character lovely but doc has a creep smile xD but so much good character on it. Love it

I loved how you went into your start with Harvest Moon. I saw the original Harvest Moon for the Gameboy, the original Gameboy. My first Harvest Moon I owned was HM 3 GBC. I loved Harvest Moon One World and from what I have seen The Winds of Anthos is not without flaws but it took everything great from One World and made it better just my opinion. The world is much bigger which excites me because the sprites had you going all over to collect all seeds. Just like in this one if you sell enough crops then you can start buying seeds for said crop. I have not played Anthos yet but I plan to. I think the mining was both better and worse in some ways than One World.

@@ashscozycorner I did stop for a while, before One World I think my last one was, if I remember right the 15 year anniversary, Island of Happiness for the DS, I honestly hated that one. However my brother played Tree of Tranquility which was actually pretty cool. My bro passed in 2010 but it was years later I was searching and found out about One World, pre-ordered. I did not regret it though One Worlds problems are well documented I loved it. I found out about the split around the time just before One World released.

@shifterwolf8573 yeah some of them on the ds were hard to play for sure. However, if you ever have a chance to play tree of tranquility or animal parade (Wii) I highly recommend them. Both such amazing games. I’m glad you are getting back into the series!

You hate the mining?! I thought to myself "wow, a game where I actually don't hate going in here!" lol! Exact opposite reaction. I love that it basically tells you exactly where to dig for materials and possibly the ladder instead of just digging up the ENTIRE floor T_T Overall, I'm actually addicted to this game. 30 hours in, still haven't beaten the story because I'm having too much fun doing other things.

I absolutely adore your channel, the content you produce, and the invaluable tips you generously share with us. However, as a dedicated supporter of your channel, I would like to humbly request something from you: Could you please refrain from discussing Harvest Moon Back to Nature or any game under the "Harvest Moon" trademark prior to "Harvest Moon: Lost Valley" on the 3DS as if Natsume had created them? In reality, they were merely publishers at that time, and those beloved classics were actually crafted by Marvelous. In my perspective, it wouldn't be fair for Natsume to receive undue credit for these games. The Harvest Moon you're referring to bears no resemblance to that golden era, and for those who might not be aware of what the original Harvest Moon/Bokujo Monogatari franchise is called nowadays, it goes by the name "Story Of Seasons," with Marvelous continuing to craft remarkable games under this banner. I hope you understand my perspective, and I want to emphasize that my intention is to maintain the integrity of the game's history. I'm genuinely fond of your content and wish you continued success! ♥

I absolutely understand this, I just talk about Harvest Moon anytime before the split as they were the same because they were in a partnership and I do think they both deserve credit to some degree! Most people know about the split and it’s super talked about still and easily findable with a quick google ☺️ I just wanted to talk about my childhood and why this experience was so important to me. I’m sorry you feel like this isn’t fair to Marvelous / Story of Seasons as that wasn’t my intention. ❤️

My first harvest moon game was the one for Super nintendo. I had an emulator that my brother made me and couldn't save the game because it was burned to a disc. Had to leave the game running for days to play it

Now I know that I will just stick to AC, even tho there is barely to do there anymore for me, since HM doesn't really look like an upgrade compared to AC, but a massive downgrade. I wouldn’t really compare a harvest moon game to animal crossing! They’re two really, completely different games. ☺️ if you’re looking for something like animal crossing, try out Cozy Grove!

Sadly they said the game will be delayed and can brick console for playing it until game release because they had issues with game .

Story of Seasons is better. A Wonderful Life is a really well made game, and looks better than this one graphically.
