BTS is one of the biggest bands on the planet, and I've literally never listened to any of their music. So I sat down to check out their current top 5 songs on the billboard charts ('Butter,' 'Dynamite,' 'Permission To Dance,' 'My Universe,' and 'Life Goes On') and see what all the hype is about.

"I might be wrong" Oh man yes you are. All of the members are songwriters and producers, specially the 3 rappers. One of them even has won awards producing songs for other artists. Their discography is huge and you happend to listen to the only 3 songs the group has in english, released during the pandemic just to give some comfort to their fans in those dificult times. Their songs are usually very thoughtful, with deep meaning and beautiful lyrics, talk about their lifes, their struggles, their dreams... They include a lot of genres in their music, if you are interested, just dig a little bit more. There's a lot to discover.

Regardless, the three all English songs were mainly written by other writers and not them, something very unusual and are the least ‘BTS’ songs that are out there. It is so unfortunate that this is the first impression you have of BTS - that they are manufactured, told what to sing, how to dress, etc. Nothing could be further from the truth. With a discography of over 300 songs, about 90% written by themselves (unheard of in KPop) their lyrics are quite profound and meaningful. They have been together for over 10 years, are extremely close (like family) and just signed their 3rd contract with BigHit (HYBE) to extend well past 2025.Three of the members are currently serving their mandatory military service in South Korea and the other four will follow. They have been working on their solo endeavors in the meantime. Their promise to their fans is to come back together in the 2nd half of 2025. These are 7 of the nicest, most humble and intelligent young men you will find. They are incredibly charitable and treat their fans like they are the most important people in the world to them. Hence the undying loyalty from ARMY. I hope you get to discover the real BTS. Thank you for giving them a shot.

Good lord you picked their 3 English songs that was released during the pandemic to make people feel better as they too were feeling the difficulties of the lockdown and isolation. The fourth song in Korean to give us hope that things will get better. I’m 63 years old and I found BTS after my husband died almost 3 years ago and they had me genuinely smiling and laughing during my grief that friends and family couldn’t do. In my self isolation and cave I only allowed BTS in. Everyone grieves differently and I knew I had to be in that cave for as long as I needed and my wonderful family and friends understood that. I’m feeling better now and started to have energy and motivation. So my point is that, BTS has done this for millions of people, young and old. They are definitely worth taking a deeper dive.

7:00 Respectfully, hearing BTS being described as a “classic boy-band” after barely 7 minutes is almost like hearing the ocean being dismissed as “classic salty water” after barely dipping a toe in it. Yes, they were chosen to form the group. That’s where the similarities to what you describe as a “classic boy band” end. They have more like a music version of the MCU Avengers tbh. Each group member is an accomplished, talented artist in his own right with writing, composing and production credits, and has been for years WHILE being part of the group. Their story is inspiring and their lyrics largely reflect it. The video Guide To BTS: The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari is a fairly good introduction re: each member background & how/why they became BTS and can put to rest most of your misconceptions. The BTS Festa Room Live has snippets from 7 b-side songs from different albums, and Proof Live has 3 songs from their most recent (anthology) albums as a group. Group activities are currently on pause until all members complete their mandatory military service (end of 2025) All have released solo albums/singles in 2022-23 showcasing their diverse music styles.

@@becauseisaac “Best” is pretty much a matter of personal preference. That said, many songs are deep/complex enough to require “explanation videos” to catch their multiple meanings and/or cultural references: 1) Spring Day is called “the Queen” bc it has stayed on Korean top 100 sales charts for over six years. It’s about grief. the MV is highly symbolic and believed to be a tribute to victims of a national tragedy. 2) Bapsae also called Silver Spoon - about socio-economic disparity & expectations. No MV. 3) Ddaeng - a playful yet savage “diss” track by the 3 rappers using around 7 meanings of the same Korean word so explanation video 100% required. No MV. 4)Ugh - another rap line song about the emotion of anger. No MV 5) Idol - about choosing self-love over haters’ opinions. Many cultural references in both MV & the song itself. Other songs with MVs and meaningful but less complex lyrics: 1) Fire (Burning Up) 2) ON Kinetic Manifesto film 3) Black Swan 4) Fake Love 5) Save Me and its “mirror image” song I’m Fine Two VERY GOOD resources to assist in your journey are the website Doolset Bangtan for accurate annotated lyrics translations of BTS songs and YT channel Enjoy BTS More which adds those same translations as subtitles to a variety of live performances. Recommend either or them for songs with no MVs.

I genuinely don't understand how KZfaqrs manage to confidently dismiss musicians based on random song selections. I personally always look through the discography of acts because I can like / didlike one song and feel differently about a whole album. BTS have been around for 10 years and their discography consists of 400+ group and individual songs of which the majority they wrote and usually co-composed. 3+1 songs are hardly an indication of anything related to their musicality, lyricism and authenticity. I don't know you but consider that picking specifically the three English songs is fishy. Their most viewed MVs are Dynamite, Boy with Luv, DNA and Mic Drop. By relevance, it's Dynamite, Jungkook's Seven (solo), Mic Drop, Boy with Luv and Butter. Top Tracks are Slow Damcing by V (solo), Dynamite, My Universe with Coldplay, Butter and Boy With Luv. So where exactly did this list come from? I could say that you had a prejudice and wanted to confirm that prejudice by listening to three songs that confirm it but then I'd judge a book by its cover. Do I assume that you're yet another misogynistic white man asserting dominance over what you perceive to be women's interest or do I give you the benefit of the doubt that I caught a video that's not representative of yourself? I hope it comes through what I'm trying to point out here. As a society, we would all benefit from less judgemental hot takes online and more willingness to just reach out and ask - hey, you like this thing and I wonder if you can show me why you find it great? ARMY are welcoming but we're a tough audience because neither us nor BTS need you to be their fan. They are one of the few artists who can sell out stadium tours across the globe as well as sell physical albums in the millions without bundling. And funny enough, tons of rock & hip hop fans love BTS due to their impressive discography. Their roots are in hip hop and they have plenty of anti-establishment anthems and social commentary. But they are artists unafraid to just release music they know the fans can listen to at the club. Versatility. One of the members is a huge jazz fan and he sang covers as well as released an RnB album recently. One of the rappers held a solo tour where he sang and played piano and guitar as well. Another rapper released a diary-like album conceptualizing gis twenties but instead of big venues, he went to indie stages. The oldest member performed with Coldplay, the youngest is doing some English collabs. Again, 400+ songs with no two sounding the same. If you want a trip, go from We On to Spring Day to Best Of Me to UGH to My Universe to Born Singer (2023 version) and that will give you a peek into how vast their range actually is.

Not here to attack you, don't worry. Each of BTS members are solo artists and they have dark songs and deep lyrics. As usual, like Radiohead, the most popular song is creep. As someone who seems to know music, you would know better to not go by "top songs". You might also have a prejudiced mindset already. I come from alternative and indie music listening, and I like BTS. Perhaps try to learn each member first and see their talents and backgrounds. It also depends on what you go for. I like darker, haunting tracks, or aggressive and cool and well orchestrated tracks. Since you seem to Coldplay (who to me aren't haunting enough since their first album and definitely not aggressive) maybe you go for something different. Anyway, try V's solo work, alternative r&b with splash of jazz. For BTS try "Singularity" (a haunting r&b), "Black Swan" (dark hip hop), "Paradise" (groovy track), "Fly to my Room" (pretty well done song), "Silver Spoon" (a cool hip hop song about life's pressure), "Stigma" (abuse), and pretty well done aggressive tracks like "Fire", "Dionysus", "I Need U", "Run". They also have plenty of ballads "Serendipity", "Truth Be Untold", "Blue and Grey", "Lies", "Awake", "Moon", are some of my favorites. "My Time" is a nice track too. For albums, I'm fond of "Most Beautiful Moment Pt. 2: Young Forever". That album is raw, aggressive, and beautiful at the same time. "I Need U", "Run", "Fire", "Silver Spoon", "Butterfly", "Dope", "Save Me", and "House of Cards" are my favorites. Once you've explored them well, come back and tell us how would you compare them to other boy bands? Do they have as much variety as BTS? Can all their members sing as well as all 4 BTS vocal-line, and can they dance and performance as sophisticately as BTS?

These songs brought so much joy to so many people, how can anyone disregard that ?

LOL! You are so wrong. You started with the wrong songs. You judged them based on few of their BB hot 100 #1 songs without even knowing who they are, how they started and how they succeeded in the global music industry. BTS is not your typical KPop idol group. The funny thing is that you said they are manufactured. LOL! Just because they are KPop, you think they are manufactured. LMAO! They were trained, yes! They trained for like 1-2 years. The last member, Jimin only trained for about 6 months before their debut in June 2013. Not like other groups who trained for as long as 5, 10 to even 15 years before debuting. They already possess the talents even before they were formed. And speaking of auto-tunes, they use auto-tunes for artistic reason not to cover their vocals. That is why I always recommend to watch them live because they don't use auto tunes for their live performances. Even western artists use auto-tunes in their MVs. LOL! BTS are global A-listers. They're the only artist who got 3 number 1 albums in less than a year since The Beatles. They have broken records set by The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, One Direction etc. They are not just known for being great singers, rappers and dancers but also, their Korean lyrics are so deep, meaningful and inspirational. The message they send through their lyrics, music and artistry resonates with the general public because they tackle depression, anxiety, mental health, discrimination, social expectations, injustices, self love, hard work, following your dreams etc. They have several poppy songs but don't assume that they only have these kinds of music. They have 3 English songs Dynamite, Butter and Permission To Dance which they released during the height of the global pandemic to bring positive vibe and hope to all their fans across the world. Their 3 English songs are not really that deep compared to their Korean songs. And they were written and produced by your western songwriters and producers. LOL! Nevertheless, BTS still performed them because the message is just to bring positive vibes to their fans across the globe as I've said. The seven members are all songwriters, producers and composers. Although they have in-house producers, they are actively involve in writing, composing and producing their songs from their debut album in 2013 to their solo stuff until now. Their music genres include Pop, Disco-pop, Hip Hop/Rap, Latin Pop, EDM, R&B/Soul, Ballad, Funk, Synth Pop, New Age, Moombhaton, Electronica etc. Name it, they have it. As of the present, they have already won more than 900 awards and counting plus individual awards with 36 Guinness World Record. They top Billboard, Itunes, Spotify, and other music platforms. They sell out stadiums across the globe including Sofi Stadium, Allegiant Stadium, Rose Bowl in the US and the legendary Wembley Stadium in England in less than an hour. Getting a BTS concert ticket is like hunger games.Their music videos are insane but they are better live. Their fans ARMY are not just screaming teenage girls but people who are in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s even 60s and 70s. I'm 48 and I'm an ARMY. And FYI, even rock and heavy metal fans are into BTS. So please don't assume that this is all what BTS got. LOL! Just in case you want to give bts a chance but you don't know what songs to react to, here are some recommended ones. Please turn on CC so you can understand the message of their songs. FAKE LOVE MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/balirZd41te3ZXk.html BLACK SWAN MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZtKRo6llqbe0e4U.html ON KINETIC MANIFESTO FILM MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nd19lJmY1dWpaX0.html BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ntN1bMleuavZpJc.html NOT TODAY MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b6qnraV6qLbMlIE.htmlsi=6pNSjFNIvezcKwrB SPRING DAY MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rquVedV9uNGxnWw.htmlsi=0Ff2ni_-2F82ihTc FIRE MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d7KaaLB8z9-Wcok.htmlsi=IkYvYNXDLe1tDTKj DOPE MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eLyndLmTsL-9lYE.htmlsi=5ww0gl9KHEuPLjzS MIC DROP MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/obqcqZiQp9mckas.html PS: Just in case you'll get confused as to what's going on in their MVs, you can react to explanation videos to each of the songs above as well. They had this program called American Hustle life they went on when they were just starting I love rewatching that series over and over, it was amazing to see how much they grew over the years and now their producing and writing their own lyrics/songs and mv's. They are truly incredible artists :) I would also listen to a few of their older songs as well those are always good!

BTS does lots of genres. US pop with all English is good pop but not good idea of BTS. Examples Black Swan, Mic Drop, Airplane 2, Blood, Sweat and Tears and Truth Untold, Not Today. Their live performances are the best to see their energy. They write most of their other songs and have many serious songs about mental health. 3 rsppers and 4 vocalists with great dance performances.

Also got 700+ awards(excluding government honour's) They came from a small company, now it as grown due to there 10yrs of hard work I wouldn't recommend any English songs from BTS cause it as less involved go for any Korean songs its usually as deeper meaning & sustains(social commentary, self improvement, self love & hard work) in it & all the members are Songwriters, Producer's & Composer's (3 of the Rappers are the main producers "they have 100+ credits" alongside Pdogg, Bang PD) also received awards for producing for there artists 1st song was Butter(longest charting song in Billboard song in 2022) & as some more records broken which they themselves set it before They do music in different genres and they are way for from typical boy band 6:54 , man you got everything wrong about them, please don't just assume things brother 😕 🤦

@@becauseisaac You know, if BTS never released these English type of songs they'd still be popular. Even if BTS never released any of their hit songs, they'd still be globally popular. Even if BTS never danced or released any music video, they'd still be popular. Even if BTS never had live performance or shown their face in public, they'd still be popular. Even if BTS don't know how to sing or never have their songs appear in charts, they'd still be known globally. Even if BTS came from a small label near bankruptcy (which is a fact) with no power to promote them and have no support from any music industry (which is also a fact) BTS would still be popular. Even if BTS never have media play or have any promotions from their company, and even have the K media actively downplay their accomplishment. (Which is still happening now). BTS would still be big. Even if BTS never came to America or went to the Western Country, they'd still be big in the west even if they don't release any songs specifically for the west. Even if the Western Music Industry and the Kpop Industry would try to sabotage BTS, it still won't work. For example like cutting their streams in half, deleting millions of views in their MV's everyday, giving them 0% radio play, not including their songs in award shows, deleting 90% of their song and album sales so that they can fall from charts, still isn't enough. BTS is just a huge anomaly in the music industry. And what's more funny is that the Kpop Industry don't like BTS at all, and can't even wait to replace them. So a CEO from one of the biggest Kpop company had this brilliant idea of creating another Kpop group that has both support from the Kpop and Western Industry with lots of crazy promotions. They even recruited all best male Kpop idols that has it all, like superb looks, dancing skills, singing skills, charisma all in one group just to surpass BTS. But you can already guess what happened to them.

Oh dear lord. Did you REALLY say that? You'll watch BTS IF WE SUBSCRIBE? Walk away, pal, walk away. We don;t need you and we will not subscribe. We MIGHT watch you, for a while but not if it's this standard. To respond to some of the comments you made ... in the hope of informing you ... even a tiny lilttle bit. PDogg is Korean and one of BTS main producers, and an award winner (Mnet Asian Music Award for Best Producer of the Year, Mnet Asian Music Award for Best Composer of the Year). He is a millionaire. Each and every member who also write and produce. BTS write and produce most of their songs - only the ones in English sound 'American', and the Korean/English ones are from ALL different genres. They are NOT your normal 'boy band' as known in the west. Korean people tend to look young, but Idols are immaculate - it's their job. They do a full day training in a dance studio then go home and work out. they do a 3 hour concert where they sing and dance live, with no intro act, just them, then go back to the hotel and work out. They have a very careful skin care routine, but that's common in Korea, and yes, they wear make up like every western performer and we don't apologise for that. If you don't listen to BTS' Korean songs you will never have any idea. They don't sing about anything specific? All of these songs were made specifically to cheer people up in the pandemic. They didn't want it to be deep. They are not routine BTS songs - They routinely call out deep subjects: abuse, societal expectations, bullying, mental illness, Philosophical and psychological theories, hard labour, haters - they don't make things up but write about their own lives. We've seen the depression and the hate and the bullying, because they each talk to fans live online, sometimes more than once a week. If you're just looking for subs and views, walk on. ARMY don't do that. We don;t need you, we have too many real ARMY reactors sharing BTS music with us If you want to genuinely meet BTS, we'll welcome you - if you are genuine. You don't have to love them, just be honest, and if you don't get the point, then, move on. There are plenty of artists out there who need your attention. BTS don't. 'Live a life, man',

you picked the wrong songs. now please do these at least 2 more videos on them do 5 more group songs and 7 solo songs one from each member :) bts write and produce majority of their music. out of the songs you reacted to they wrote for my universe and life goes on as the other 3 are in english which isnt their first language. those 3 english songs were made only for the pandemic to cheer people up. bts make music in korean, japanese, english and said they will try more languages in the future. most of bts music is deep and discusses their lives, mental health, social issues, empowerment etc the western industry only recognized the english songs cause they didnt wanna put bts korean songs on radio. so the songs you chose life goes on is the most "their style" even though bts doesnt have a style they do everything. theyre not a typical boyband they are still a group WHILE having successful solo careers at the same time. theres 3 rappers and 4 singers. they do all genres and they cant be put in a box of "pop group" or "kpop group" or "boyband". lyrics are the main reason bts is so big then comes production then comes their personalities then comes live performances then comes visuals for music videos and lastly cause theyre handsome dudes. majority of their fans are the same age groups 26 - 30 or older and we care about the music more than anything else. group songs : rain lyrics, tomorrow lyrics, louder than bombs lyrics, dope music video, silver spoon lyrics member solo songs : rm life lyrics, agust d/suga haegum music video, jhope more music video, jin the astronaut music video, jimin set me free part 2, V rainy days music video, jungkook still with you lyrics

But if you dig deeper in to the meaning of this songs especially Dynamite, there is a lot of musical referrence on it. BTS known for their music that they created through their blood sweat and tears. You can't say that they were manufactured. They are known for their lyricsism, they tackled different topics and concept, they create their own genre. Tbh, they don't even need to do english, but they love their fans so much, they gave us this wonderful songs. Pity you came into this reaction with your own assumptions. You're seriously missing out the very best of their music. Do yourself a favour and research them more before making presumptions that they just string some music and sound and autotune their vocals. BTS did not get to be where they are just like that. Their fandom is a world wide base of 50 over million of all ages and still growing. Their discography covers more that 300 songs, they have more than 700 awards. These accolades speak to how accomplished they are. Just a cursory short glance here and there and not even having the courtesy to finish even one of these few songs, is such a discredit not just to BTS, but reflects that you need to get more information before making such an uneducated guess. There is a reason why some of these few MVs have more than a billion views.

OK - Please be aware that some of the things you are accusing them of (Being manufactured, being a product, not writing their own music or being in control of their art, being pretty faces with no substance) are the kind of unfounded things that have been thrown at them their entire career and will be very triggering to ARMY, who have fought for years to protect and defend them from an insane level of hate and attacks (including career sabotage attempts, many death threats, slander, lies, accusations....just believe me when I say that it's been a lot.) BTS are not manufactured, they are indie artists who are self-made despite a massive amount of industry pushback and suppression. They were basically the only artists at their tiny, indie label and they and their main producer, CEO Mr Bang Si-Hyuk built it from the ground up into the powerhouse that it is today. I don't care if you believe that or not, but it's incredibly well documented since they started on youtube in 2013 and filmed basically their whole lives for the last 10 years, highs and lows, all out on the table. It's actually the most incredible come up story I have ever heard. And they have had creative control of their music and their messaging from the moment they started as teenagers. Yes, that is extremely unusual in the industry and that is because the founder of their tiny label, Mr Bang, was aiming for a revolution in the music industry that favors artists' real voices. They are also a Hip Hop based artists, with three of the best rappers in the world period, but they also cover an insanely diverse number of genres including Hard Rap/Hip Hop, Pop, EDM, R&B, Neo Soul, Ballads, Latin Pop, Rock, and more. These first three songs are the only English songs they have in their whole discography, which is 20 group albums, 10 solo albums and hundreds of songs deep, including singles, OSTs, collabs and covers. These three songs are just fun, pure sugar, bops meant to cheer people up during the height of the pandemic and not typical of their music AT ALL. They were actually shocked when these songs blew up like they did. People appreciated the pick-me-up during the pandemic. RM, the group leader, calls them a Trojan Horse to draw people into their other music. They didn't write these songs, which is unusual for them, though they did modify them and add to them, including adding sign language in Permission to Dance. They were trying to make them as easily accessible as possible to help lift people up during a dark time. Which is why they are all so bright. As to why these particular songs are the ones on the top of billboard, that is a whole long other story involving industry suppression, racism, xenophobia and other things. If you don't know how the music industry works on a pay to play and back scratching basis and how BTS is an industry outsider who refuses to pay, then it can be hard to understand all of this. That's a long and involved story that has to do with the monopolies in the global music industry and why they consider BTS an enemy. You can find many videos about those issues, like boracity magazine's video "why the music industry is terrified of BTS." One of their rappers just completed a world tour that is the most lucrative for any rapper in history. Millions of fans are not idiots. BTS is a thinking person's band, with lyricism and themes drawn from history, psychology, philosophy, soci-political and economic issues, current events, life struggles, personal stories, poetry and literature, religion and mythology and visual arts. All their albums are concept albums that run on themes and often in sets, with layers of storytelling that runs across multiple albums. Their musicality is top notch with all the members song writing and producing but especially the three rappers, and doing really interesting and unusual things with song structures and melodies and their voices, which are all amazing by the way. Their biggest fans are songwriters, performers, rappers, singers, producers, musicians, dancers, videographers, storytellers - because they recognize the technical skill and talent in what they do. Their deep, multi-layered lyricism and their broad cultural impact is actually being studied now in colleges all over the world. Their dancing is world class art, particularly j-hope and Jimin who have won national awards as dancers alone, and their choreography is top notch visual performance art storytelling. They have a self-imposed mission to bring love and healing to the world through music and their label's motto is "Music and Artist for Healing." ARMY is more of a global social movement than a fanbase and has done massive and historic things charitably. I would urge you to take a better look and toss your biases and misconceptions in the trash. Signed a 50+ year old Educator who is ARMY for life, as is my Nuclear Engineer husband and my Martial Arts Instructor son. Their appeal, and their fanbase, is incredibly diverse.

You have NO IDEA what kind of background BTS comes from and how much they have to struggle to be where they are today, so please don't assume they are just some group thrown together to make money. BTS is a true rags to riches story. litterally. they came from a very little agency and they were told they would never make it because the major agency rules the media in korea just like in the US. however what happened was Army (fans) made them popular through social media. we saw how amazing they where and they are now the best selling korean artist in the world. they all slept in 1 little bedroom with bunkbeds when they was a traine. they would practice so much and only sleep for a few hours a day. that type of hard work is rare to find now a days. and they improved fast and it´s amazing because ALL of their journey is captured on camera so one army collected all videos to tell their story and it´s professional made. the rise of bangtan is really amazing and you will get to know more about kpop too. and how different it is and also why they look so much more younger and feminine. it´s part of their culture.

You ticked every single box about how preconceived and judgemental your reaction was going to be. You already have 144 comments about how wrong you were and why, so I'm not going to explain it again to you. It's up to you if you listen to what people are saying in comments or not as Army aren't all rabid fangirls that suck up vapid happy meaningless pop songs that contain no real substance. There is a reason so many Army exist out there and why BTS resonate so deeply with people across the entire globe. It's up to you to discover why they are so successful or don't for yourself if you really want to understand!

I will add that those songs are far from vapid and meaningless. They cheered up people during dark times and they are honestly a whole vibe. Standing still while listening to these songs would straight up be torture. Sometimes music is just meant to put a smile on people's face and make them dance.

You’ll get way more subscribers if you do a more thorough and open-minded intro-journey into BTS. Then if you enjoy them, the subs will come in droves. You could do a simple video explaining what music you enjoy & what you like to focus on & Army will help guide you and find a place to start. For example, some reactors focus on their actual musicality, some on MV production & cinematography, some on lyrics, some live for the rap line, others for the vocal line, or the dancing etc. Some like it all and enjoy the camaraderie with Army. 💜 And part of the reason they look so young is because (a) South Korea is famous for its skin care and (b) they take really good care of themselves. Right now, 3 of them are doing their mandatory military service in SK and the other 4 will soon follow with a full return of BTS in 2025, so I assure you that these are men, not boys. They are also well rounded young men with immense talent, each unique and blessed with good character. If your reactions are choppy, I personally won’t watch. I want to listen to an entire song when I watch reactors and I watch a TON of them. And just to dispel the common trope that Army is all young screaming girls, I am a 54 yr old woman in 🇺🇸 who found BTS by accident in 2022 when I saw their cover of I’ll Be Missing Young on BBC radio 1 YT channel. They have changed my life. They have tons of content aside from music as well. They are all natural born comedians, and their bond with one another is inspiring. You will likely love them just like the tens of millions of Army do, and I bet they will enrich your life. And just since this ridiculous comment is so freaking long, here are some basic tips for reacting to BTS: 1. Most of their songs have Korean in them, so use close captions on the MVs to understand the lyrics. Or read lyric translations beforehand so you’ll know what a song is about. 2. After you’ve done a few songs, react to the Taylor guide to BTS so you understand who they are. Make the captions large enough so Army can follow too. 3. Always let a video play completely through. Just because it fades to black doesn’t mean it’s over. 4. I prefer reactors who keep the BTS video large and their face smaller and not covering the members’ faces. 5. Feel free to watch something more than once in a rxn. Some folks listen first to just enjoy & then 2nd watch to focus on what they’re interested in. That’s enough for now. Good luck if you decide to come along. 💜

that is the same view people have on them when they only see the english songs. and no offence but all music in the US now a days is the same. i became a fan of BTS before they made these songs. BTS is so much more. they have music in almost all genres. name one you like and we will recommend a song. many people fall in love with BTS after they hear their korean songs btw. this is just attention grappers. but needed in that time (covid) when people needed something to make them smile. BTS have the most deepest emotionel and poetic lyrics in the world right now. RM their leader with the deepest voice is a poet and a rapper and has over 200+ writing credit and Suga has 170+ and he produce too. they each have solo albums by now and they have always made solo songs even as part of BTS. so they have proven themself to be 7 amazing artists not just superficial boy bandmembers with maybe one or two good singers like you know from the west. the thing about BTS is that they do it all. you can find songs like these amarican produced but mainly their songs are in korean and hip hop is their main genere. i recommend looking at black swan, that song is artistic and the lyrics are deep reflection on their fear of loosing their passion for music. they actually made a instrumental version with a classic dance theme that tells the story of the black swan. and yes it is similar to the ballet.

‘They have producers and writers who are doing all this’, yea them, when you googled who producers for BTS you can literally see that multiple members are listed as producers. They produce/write their own stuff and have even won awards for producing songs for other artists. It’s so clear from the start of this video that you’ve already got an idea of who you think BTS are and aren’t really interested in challenging that idea. Not even going to touch some of the other stuff you said because fellow ARMY already have and quite frankly it’s the same exhausting stuff people who know nothing about BTS love to spout.

I Found BTS through their outrageously great Rap line. RM, Suga/ Agust D, and J Hope. These songs are not typical. These songs are part of their happy cheer everybody up from covid blues. You could not be more wrong about their multi genre content ( Suga has won awards for production alone...on top of the over 750 they have as a group), but it's not your fault. They have songs about depression, social anxiety, referring to tragedies such as the Sewel disaster. They have spoken in front of the UN on multiple occasions. The world takes their voice very seriously. So before you write off these 7 writer producer composers watch TAYLOR MARI GUIDE TO THE BANGTAN 7. Not only is it highly entertaining but it will educate your opinion, because at the moment you are looking a little silly.

Their English songs are not really representative of who they are as artists, since their songs in English were written by other people. Their self written Korean songs are not confined to one genre, so there is a BTS song for every taste in music. I started listening to BTS because their music was unlike anything else I had ever heard, but I became ARMY because of their message. Their main goal is to spread hope, positivity, and healing, and to teach people to love themselves, and they put their money where their mouth is. Just this week to celebrate their resigning of their contracts with their agency they donated a million dollars to UNICEF to protect children all over the world. They are also extremely humble individuals. How can you hate on people like that?

Their music is so big and meaningful, scholars in various fields all over the world came together and had international colloquiums.
