I do want to say, the foundation for day 1 looked really good still and *only* my under eyes were powdered, and I still was impressed. So I like the foundation even without the powder. But I like it even *more* with the powder :) if that makes sense

FYI: sometimes fragrance is added as a “masking fragrance” meaning it’s used to neutralize the natural scent of the product, not to make it have a scent! That’s why unscented and fragrance free are two different labels!

I appreciate the fact that you actually show us your real skin!!! I'm much more inclined to trust your reviews because we can actually see what it looks like away from fancy lights! You arent afraid to look like a real person...And for that, Thank you!

My long, unsolicited review and tips for the Bite foundation: I usually have oily skin, but due to weather and hormone changes my skin has been incredibly dry and textured lately (to the point where it was flaky and scaly). I bought this foundation last Tuesday because I love not wearing makeup, but still reach for something every day because I have bad cystic acne scars and unevenness, and I still get hormonal breakouts. I need a foundation that can be applied quickly, hang on through a workout, and not feel like makeup. From about 13-21 I exclusively used L’Oréal true match, but I stopped when I was trying to heal my skin because I felt like it was severely clogging my pores. Then, I switched to the it cosmetics CC cream which I liked, but it always felt thick and sticky (even when set) and I usually had a lot of transfer. That brings us to present day where I am now on a unending quest to achieve the ultimate, flawless “no makeup” look. *Didn’t buy the primer or powder because...I have bills. Day 1: I applied it with a brush on one side and a beauty blender on the other. I ~hated~ the sponge side because it just seemed to absorbed product and it applied patchy. The brush side looked a little streaky, and my skin was still flakey (not the product’s fault) and very dry looking. I was truly unnerved that I may have just spent $40 on a foundation that did me dirty, so I scrambled to save it with a “brush, sponge, repeat” pattern. I exited the bathroom cautiously, ate, and asked my husband how it looked. Some highlights of his reviewed include “wow,” “more blended than your usual” (hurtful), and “it’s really pretty because it looks like you.” I looked in the mirror again and absolutely loved it this time. Day 2: I had a few days where I worked on hydrating and rebalancing my skin so it wasn’t flakey. I applied an extra layer of moisturizer before applied the foundation, and then I applied it with a brush. After, I tapped over my entire face with a damp sponge which evened it out and added some moisture back to my skin. Day 3: I did everything from day two, but I set my under eyes, nose, chin, and forehead (places foundation usually separates on me) and lightly powdered everything else with a cover girl pressed powder. It looked so good! I’ve worn it two other times and to the gym. Overall: I have never loved a foundation more. In my opinion, it is light coverage and can be built up to a medium, but powdering adds even more coverage. This foundation is incredibly long wearing (made it through a sweaty workout and morning to night of Super Bowl Sunday) and it barely transfers. This is the only foundation that feels so light that I forget I’m wearing makeup. I can rub or scratch at my face and it still holds up. It’s the definition of “your skin, but better.” I think this is perfect for anyone that wants to transition to not wearing makeup at all or wearing lighter makeup. Imperfections will still show through, but it looks beautiful and even because you won’t have noticeable, heavy coverage products piled on top that tell everyone your trying to cover something, but can’t. Ya know what I mean? Quick tips: 1. Moisturize and hydrate right before applying. 2. Apply with a brush. 3. Pat over the foundation w/damp sponge after applying. 4. Set with a pressed powder (Idk about translucent bc I don’t use it). 5. I don’t use a setting spray, but it might add some extra dewy-ness. I don’t know ask your real dad. 6. After finishing your makeup, let it sit for about 15-20 minutes before you come back and judge. I feel like it adapts to your skin because when you first apply it the foundation can look dry or textured, but after a little while it melts into the skin soo nicely and doesn’t look like makeup. This is the only foundation that looks better the longer I wear it.

natural: cocaine, poison ivy, etc. I always think it's interesting when people think natural is guaranteed to be better. A few years ago, I changed all of my skincare to 100% natural. Smearing honey on my face as a mask level. I developed the biggest skin issues after. Rashes, blotchy spaces, etc. I think ingredient knowledge is so key. I was using essential oils because I was told they were natural, and skin-loving. Meanwhile, my skin was freaking out. Now I use a mix. I've educated myself on ingredients, and things are so much better.

In terms of fragrance: sometimes certain forms of fragrance are added to neutralize a scent that the product has without it. Especially sometimes products will have an unpleasant chemically scent, and fragrance will be added to make it smell more like nothing.

Anybody else when she said “better ingredients” say silently to themselves “better pizza, papa johns” ?

this is my exact reaction to the foundation. it’s honestly so weird when you first put it on but after 5-10 min of settling into the skin and meshing with the primer / moisturizer you use and all your other base products it looks soNATURAL and skin like and sets itself while also maintaining moisture? it wears so well it’s my new holy grail
