Our grand neice had genetic vision problems when she was born that has meant she has limited vision, mostly sees some light but nothing else. She's had vision therapy since she was about one and has been enrolled in special classes to teach her all types of accommodations (and watching Molly Burke for years I've tried to supply her with cool kid to teen products to help her be independent, my goal is her own guide dog). She's now 17 and has top grades in school, is a lovely young lady with a great attitude and funny sense of humor. My favorite thing is that at the age of three driving through the local grocery parking lot with her grand parents (who live across the street from us) she heard our voices as we were walking to the store entrance and she yelled out, "Mike, Deborah!" She's intelligent and knows voices of people she likes!

As a certified optometric vision therapist (COVT) myself, it makes me so happy to hear you are taking the path of vision therapy for Lucy! You will NOT regret it I promise. This past week was our annual conference in San Francisco and there was a specific course on CVI. We are always sharing knowledge and constantly learning to better treat our patients. I hope your clinic is amazing! ❤ Also next year our conference is in Fort Worth and it made me think of you immediately!

As a teacher I wish there were more parents like you. Parents that don’t let their child’s diagnosis define them but still want to do everything they can to support them. I know that you and Grant will always value communicating with her teachers and will listen to/respect their recommendations/expertise.

I just have to say, you are such an inspirational mom. My baby was born at 23 weeks old in December. He’s almost ready to come home from the hospital. We don’t know what if any special needs he will have and the unknown is scary. But watching how you care for Lucy is so wonderful. You are such an amazing mom, I hope I’m half as great as you!

Seeing Miss Luna Bean makes me so happy. My little Luna passed away 2 years ago next week age 11. Still miss her every moment. She used to perk right up every time she heard you say Luna. :) Seeing your Luna reminds me of those happy times. Miss Lucy is growing so much and progressing so well. Her smile is beautiful. She imitates you so much. When you were talking so much with your hands, she was watching you and moving hers just like you. :) I talk with my hands too. If my husband wants me to stop talking for a minute he grabs my hands and suddenly I can't talk. Its hilarious. Loving your videos. I'm so happy about your new baby coming.

My grandson has CVI too, he has cerebral palsy…totally agree, early diagnosis is key. He has gotten so much help and therapy at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital…so thankful this amazing hospital is in our city. I am grateful too…he is the same age as Lucy, they were born just weeks apart. Love love love your vlogs Leigh Ann. Be well❤

Aww the matching dresses were everything! Also maybe like a light green fir the nursery? Then you could get Bambi wall decals for it and it would be so perfect as a mini forest! You could even paint a tree to mark as new baby grows taller! Just an idea! 😊💙

I don't know how it is with Lucy's disabilities? but with a new baby coming you may want to try not to be as quiet while she naps. The new baby will be noisy as well as Lucy. I have 3 sons and I would clean or vacuum just so they would get used to it. It was very hard to keep them all quiet on different nap cycles lol

Re: steaming vegetables or fruit for baby food. You can use the Munchkin sterilizer microwave bags to microwave steam produce! Same times as you would do for steam in bag veggies from the frozen section. I used to do that & then puree in the food processor. Sending lots of love to you and Lucy girl!

I’ve been watching you for so many years. Long before I even met my husband (over 10 years ago now 😅). I often joked “I’ve known Leigh Ann longer than I’ve known you!” (Though we obviously don’t know each other.) My husband never watched anything with me but he always tuned in for you and watched every fertility update with me and still asks how you’re doing even to this day. So thank you for continuing to post though you certainly don’t have to. I know you’re a busy lady but it’s so nice to see how you’re doing after all these years.
