I VISIT A CLASSIC CAR AUCTION IN BIRMINGHAM..! - CCA

Welcome back all,
In this weeks upload, me and Lauren head up to the NEC in Birmingham for the classic car restoration show. Although we were attending the show, this video is all about there classic car auction! With over 200 classic vehicles going under the hammer at the event, I had a hard time picking what cars to include in this video! Sticking with my preference I recorded many fords but there are also minis, bmw's, vw's & many more makes/models featuring in this video.
I found the auction itself very well organised & the write ups on the cars very informative. Unfortunately some of the cars I wanted to look around were locked, which was a slight inconvenience as you expect them to be open for viewing at these auctions. For anyone thinking this layout looks similar to Silverstone auctions, that is because CCA is Silverstone auctions sister company.
We will be returning to this auction again in the future!

I actually drove that escort cosworth when it was a traffic car. We also had Sierra cosworths as well to keep up with the ram raiders at that time !!

And I think we're all very glad you did document the auction this time 🙂 Your presentation was as well laid out as you said the catalogue was - you really get a lot of the atmosphere of attending - and I enjoy your pithy observations on the machines you review. This channel is one you can enjoy from a variety of angles - for sure it would be useful research for someone thinking about investing in a classic - I just like it for chatty, uncomplicated viewing - I always feel a bit better after the 15 or 20 mins! 🙂

Another great post Mitch. That blue 1.6 Ghia MK2 was a gem mate and i too am surprised it didn't go. It would've been nice to see the rare Morris series 5 traveller in the flesh. That looked like a great day out. 👍

That Mk 1 XR2 reminds me so much of my US model 1978 Fiesta S, which had the same 1.6. I had modded mine to look a lot like the XR2, but with my own design graphics and different wheels...loved that car. Wish you could still find them here but they are all gone.

@@Mk2Mitch It was cool. I actually did the mods and paint job/livery to match one in a UK Hot Minicar (can't remember the name) magazine. They did the car dark blue with a lighter blues spectrum stripe on the lower portion. My car was yellow so I did a red/orange spectrum stripe. I autocrossed the car and too 8th at the Nationals in C Street Prepared.

I never really got all the hype over the rs escorts as the Chevettes were super quick also and when you see how much that XR2 went for the replica one that sold at the newcastle auction was a steal really

nice vid, good format range rovers are like escorts, 2 doors are worth a fortune, mine is a '75, paid £200 20yrs ago, absolute rotbox, worth £6k at peak a couple of yrs ago looks like all prices are falling back now, common sense finally taking over ?

In 1990 i drove my 2 door bronz mk1 escort from manchester to taunton then i sold it for £75 To a guy in a pub the MOThad just ran out .Then wheeler dealrs bought it i watched it on tv and said wow thats my old mk1 car, they sprayed it yellow it looked brilliant .
