I think technically she could make Ace an ambassador but I understand why she doesn't, it's her personal horse she pays for him out of her own pockets, but there is a case to be made about mustangs, wildlife conservation and the BLM (Bureau of Wildlife Management)... there is a lot to be said about mustangs.

Man I had to volunteer at a animal sanctuary for high school to graduate. I wouldn’t say my experience was life changing but it’s definitely hard work and teaches you responsibility that the animals depend on you.

i eat less beef now. i only eat beef if someone made a beef dish, or if eating out with friends and its a beef place (kbarbs). but i don't intentionally buy and look for beef when eating alone. basically, I still eat beef, I don't spend money on it.

Nice. I love beef, but been slowly reducing my consumption. When I buy meat to cook, I've moved over almost entirely to chicken and sometimes pork. Just started buying certified humane stuff too. Could definitely do more, but hey, making progress.

We had a wild red fox make her den under a barn and I had never heard a fox before. Weirdest sounding animal I’ve ever come across. We actually thought a kid was hurt until we shined a light on her. From then on we protect that fox, I wouldn’t let people go down there until her babies had left and she eventually moved on. I miss seeing them

Resident reptile owner here: Maya is completely right about all of what she said. For most people, reptiles would make terrible pets. They aren’t super interactive, most prefer to be left alone. They take a lot of effort to keep, setting up an appropriate home for them can cost hundreds. You have to have uvb, heating, the appropriate diet which can often included a lot of insects. Not only do you have to avoid wild caught individuals, you also should avoid all mass bred/produced individuals sold in most pet stores, you have to find a breeder that takes temperament and genetic health into account and not just color, and if you get a young animal you have to be prepared to upgrade the size of the terrarium as they grow. Unless you have someone who is knowledgeable about your pet or willing to be your reptile babysitter, you can’t really travel at all. Of course, I adore keeping reptiles, but there is a lot that goes into keeping them responsibly, and if you aren’t willing to do a lot of research, if you don’t have an emergency rehome option available, if you aren’t willing to take your reptile to the vet(or don’t have them available), then you aren’t ready to have a reptile.
