The doctor that lives in this home now has totally remodeled the house outside and kept it up he said. He also provides tours of it.

So where are you saying this guest house was when he died in it??

@@TLeeFilms1 I am not sure of the original location but I am on a quest to find out. From my research, this house could have been moved as many as three times. At one time it was used as a tourist attraction in Elizabethton at a place called Fudd's. That was located across from the current Ford dealership. Dr Schumier bought the house when it was about to be razed and moved it to its current location about 20 years ago. Do some googling. There are a few articles about it.

Actually the "guest house" was actually the remaining section of a very large house that his daughter and her husband lived in several miles away on the Watauga River, much closer to Elizabethton. A man, George Myers, who spent time at the house during his boyhood, told me that the present structure is all that remains after the house burned in a fire. It is actually only the right third of the house, the remaining sections were destroyed in the fire. The section of the house was later moved to the western end of Elizabethton in a section then known as Fudd Town. Then the ear doctor bought it and moved it to where it stands today. Johnson never moved to Elizabethton, he remained in Greeneville and was just visiting his daughter on the day he died. The house the doctor lives in was actually the mansion of Reuben Brooks.@@TiffanyTellsAll

Of course! I’m fascinated by all of those things. People think I’m weird sometimes haha but I just love figuring out why people do the things they do or what goes through their minds.

@TiffanyTellsAll I guess I'm weird too because that part of human nature always fascinates me while sometimes still rendering me speechless. I think people who aren't interested in learning as much as they can about this sort of behavior are weird and maybe even potential victims also because they willfully choose to remain ignorant to these things.
