The theme for adventure hills right out of the town hit me in the childhood. One for one wise owl forest theme from dark cloud.

It sounds like a lot of the music and sound effects are taken from existing games, probably to save time since this was apparently a 1 month project. Still a nostalgia bomb, though, Wise Owl Forest theme slaps and I’m never unhappy to hear it

and the theme of the starting town is from Wild Arms, which is also a fantastic nostalgia rpg, and the title screen is i think star ocean 2's Arlia Village- The entire soundtrack is like a best of rpgs mix edit: and yeha i recognize phendrana music from metroid prime in the realm of lost knights

Celeste opened a lot of doors when it comes to those kinds of platformers. More tough but fair, less "git gud scrub" obtuseness.

RPG Mechanics. Also, he's a speedrunner, speedrunners are at least reasonably good at their games. He also skipped every boss except one.

I wanna games are usually bullshit tough but not all of them. I've played hundreds and some of them are really good fun platformers

as far as the difference is concerned, usually fangames in the community are ranked by difficulty out of 100, This game is a 40/100, and boshy is about 65/100. For reference, the original i wanna be the guy is 45/100 and I wanna kill the kamilia 2, the hardest game ran on marathon, is about 80/100

The physics in this game are different along with some unique mechanics not found in boshy. Unlike boshy, this game has no traps/trolls and the mouse cursor does not kill you.
