He sounds pretty versatile, for open world exploration anyway. Charge attacks for tanky enemies, burst mode for groups of enemies

There's a team that actually works really well with Sethos and it involves the Electro Traveler. Electro Traveler can actively replenish Sethos' energy while off-field with the help of their burst. Sethos 4 charge shot restriction only applies to his level 2 charge shot. It does not apply to his level 1 charge shot. Meaning, you actually dish out more damage if you spam level 1 shots, which only costs half as much energy. Nitro (The Amber Main guy) did 10 charge level one shots of 50K damage each. Which actually puts his total damage output to 500,000 from 10 level 1 shots as opposed to 360,000 from 4 level 2 shots. Its also worth noting that charge level 2 cannot hit weakspots, but level 1 can. Charge level 1 also has no ICD

Since Gaming's release, the devs has been welcoming lots of versatile and interesting yet powerful 4 Stars that can perform as well as 5 Stars.

having a 3 star weapon outperform a lot of of 4-star and 5-star weapons is already really great for a character. He actually would've been kinda decent if we can aim cancel in his burst state, but that would've make him a bit hard/sweaty to use. Though i know some people are crazy enough to learn machine-gun gorou 😂 (which is way harder than the n2 aim-cancel)

Had barely any wishes but REALLY wanted him and managed to snag a single copy, i'm so happy I love his design and his playstyle is so cool and characters that are fun in exploration are always a plus.

Amusingly, Electro Traveler is one of Sethos' best supports. Each talisman from EMC's skill gives Sethos just just enough energy for another level 1 charge shot to get up to 12 Level 1 Charge Shots. You can even abuse quick charge mechanics to spam his Level 1 Charge Shot in rapid succession. And here's the fun part, his Level 1 Charge Shot DOES NOT have ICD so he can proc Aggravate with every shot. He quite literally doesn't ever need to use his Burst once you master the quick charge shots. A team of Sethos, EMC, Kirara, and Nahida is a solid Aggravate team for him.

I really like him! At the moment I have him at lvl70, talent level 6, c0, and slingshot and I am hitting around 32k per charge shot which is pretty cool!

I said it before, and I say it again. If the only place where character can be described as "bad" is spiral abyss. Then they are bad only for one hour in 2 weeks, that's why people should stop b*tching and let others enjoy staff.

Finally someone who isnt just saying" sethos is bad"😭. I love this dual playstyle aspect, tbh i hope hoyo does more like this in the future. That way you wont be skipping banners just bcuz they are Dps but you have a bunch of dps already. Please genshin gods, keep making fun characters👏

If I remember his 2nd charge atk scales on both EM and atk which can be raised by lvling his normal atk in addition to his A2 so his c3 has kind of value still in quick charge atk playstyle. But overall thank you for this guide, pretty refreshing to see a 4* dps character that does not scale better/insane on c6, c2 is all you need

The main problem I find with the game is the sheer amout of repeated 4 stars we get from banner , not to mention weapons from the limited charachter banners all of which are R5 and beyond. There should be a rule that no 4 star is dropped in a succesion , that way it would be possible to get all the 4 stars we actually desire .

The moment i touched WuWa and fought lvl 120 enemies with a lvl 40 character i had so much fun That was the awakening i needed to keep my motivation to follow my "screw the meta" mindset. Some characters like Kaveh and Sethos are just too fun to pass on. And if i tickle the enemy, good. Ill tickle it to death. Ill build abyss teams when im in the mood because i have the characters for it anyways, but for now im having fun thanks for this video. some meta playstyles just feel boring to me and im glad i stumbled upon this to keep me motivated.

i love this kit currently using him on Thundering Fury to skill during his burst, the extra flat energy gives me a few charged shots after his burst ends.

I like him already. I use the Scion of the Blazing Zun weapon for him :) and I have him in a spread party

I got sethos c4 and he has such a fun and unique kits. Surprisingly strong as a 4* dps tho in my opinion, running 4pc WT and R2 TFGM rn. I love when on burst mode he is electro yoimiya but when on CA mode he got that piercing CA even tho it lacks aoe as long as u line up the enemies it kinda works just fine.

I do really like that he has 2 playstyles, AND that both perform similarly and use the same built. I didn’t even realise his burst counted as ca lmaaoo I’ve been using him with lyney’s weapon, 4p wanderers and he’s pretty alright lol it’s kindof a shame rust won’t work tho XD ig yoimiya can keep it for now I’m not sure the great magic bow, amos or slingshot would better tho, but I might lvl up my sling and test some more lol

i play him with Fischl, Nahida and Baizhu (or I replace Fischl with Furina with Favonius Sword for hyperbloom). When the 4 enhanced charge attacks are gone, i set up with the other three and swap into a normal attack playstyle with his ult. his enchanged charge attacks are back most of the time when that's done so its just rinse and repeat.

I plan to use Sethos together with Venti.

This may be one of them characters who will work with Nathan characters like Kuki shining was with dendro

I played woth him sometimes very later now with his love Lyney and along with that, overloading system done many wonders.

you can combine both a burst and CA playstyle with thundering fury, by using his charge attacks at the end of burst. also, sethos has another thing he can do. he can spam lvl 1 CA which is really good with fischl, and is probably his highest dmg for solo bosses, ESPECIALLY if they have a head

Sethos is such an interesting character to play around with. But.... My only gripe about him so far is that his Piercing shot can not do what a bow character can normally do. Which is stun enemies when you hit their weak point, aka, the robot enemies.

Me personally Sethos has become my favorite characters in my character list so far (Just started) and he actually is pretty useful when enemies are wet or burning (I dont have that grass thing yet).

As someone who was somehow blessed with Refinement 3 Hunter’s path, I see this as an absolute win (As a cruel joke I also got C2 tighnari rather than Chlorinde like I wanted. However, out of ANY standard 5 star, I wanted him most, so idk, it’s just a bumper patch for hunters path users I guess XD)

I think that you're supposed to have enough energy recharge that after you use your burst and you're burst is still on cooldown but you have max energy, then you use the charged shots. Making Elegy also one of his good weapons.

Sethos, fischl, kazu, baizhu. (Almost) immortal team with great damage against bosses or few elites

I'd say his best weapon is sacrificial bow. It allows him to cast elemental skill twice, which generates 24 energy on it's own, without considering particles generated.

Sethos at least isn't like the other male 4 stars that suffer from underwhelming kits. He looks like he will be a pretty good character if built right. Though, can't say he will be the best at what he does in the role he is given, those who really like the character aren't going to be too disappointed leveling him up as their damage dealer.

I saw Chinise videos him as DPS unit with Sara. Massive dos if you invest on him. Combine with Nahida and Kazuha for EM.

Another reason to have Nahida! Honestly , Zhong Lee has been getting good partners also , with all new character that use bond of life like Arlechino and Clorinde.

A few things: 1. R5 scion of the blazing sun is a lot better than slingshot (if you get the battle pass. I understand not everyone does or even goes R5), especially since his charge attack pierces and can apply that bonus to every target pierced and the bonus last and recharges, funnily enough, every 10 seconds. 2. If you intend to use his CA and skill often, Atk is still important, as they will use his Atk multiplier + EM on top. Atk only doesn’t apply to his burst, which is a conversion 3. Dori is also very good with him as the constant stream of energy allows him to utilize both play styles at the same time. 4. Hyperbloom is crazy, as he can process blooms at will. Since he can’t use yelan or xingqui, his best bet is Furina. As for dendro, either nahida for dmg or Baizhu for safety. The double heals/shield + prototype Amber actually works pretty well for him. Then either Dori if you went nahida or ET if you went Baizhu. It’s actually really powerful, and makes his dmg and uptime unusually high for a 4 star.

Let's see how long and often Sethos shows up in multiplayer ....

ngl the staying still on charge lvl 2 IS a bit annoying, but they probably did it like that bc of the different stance. all other short male bow users hold their bows in that flat facing way, only sethos holds it differently (at lvl 2 anyway) so they probably didn’t wanna do extra riggging to move around like that lol

I would say Faruzan is good without constellations but is broken with C6 (source: was without C6 for like a year or so before nabbing her in wanderer rerun)
