Look for checks in every position to avoid blunders that cpuld win or lose the game. But dont just look for a check to give a check because you really wanna give a check

Remember, you don't need a course to improve, I'm around 1400 but I beat 1700-2000s often in tournaments. Maybe they play worse thinking I wouldn't see a tactic and get forked lol. I'm in the 1300 range now, after getting tilted, taking a break hopefully will break 1600 when I get back at it

I've never played chess competetively, but in a casual setting(no clock) i do pretty well. I don't know a whole lot of theory. I think all I have going for me right now is board vision stuff, like, i can see captures and potential captures well and i rarely ever hang anything. Some of these videos are just insane. it's like they don't know how the pieces work.

As a long time casual/passive chess fan, I've never really thought about studying the game but really find it interesting to listen to people who know what they're talking about. Gotham's videos have made me want to actually start playing legitimately and try to improve, which I appreciate. That being said, I don't know that this series is making me smarter, but I'm pretty sure it's making me less dumb.

16:13 I guarantee it was a misclick where the guy saw the check on the king with the queen, and then clicked on the wrong square to then get the king to move and then get a nice back rank mate with the rook... that being said, still blunders a queen because of dark squared bishop.
