This weeks metal detecting hunts were rather fruitful. I witnessed some random men pushing a heavy barrel out of the ocean and I searched it.

Equipment:
Minelab Equinox 900, Nokta Accupoint Pinpointer, CKG Carbon Fiber Shaft & CKG Scoop, Nokta Legend, Garret Pinpointer, AquaTek water proof headphones.
Minelab Equinox 900 Settings:
Beach Mode 1 & 2
Recovery Speed 5
Iron Bias 4
Sensitivity 21-23
Ground Tracking On
All Metal Mode
5 Tones
Nokta Legend Settings:
Mode: Beach mode Multi Dry (MD)
Recovery speed : 5-7 (depends how trashy the beach is)
Iron Filter: 4
Stability : 1
Ground Suppressor (GS): 0 (off)
BC (bottle cap rejection): 6
Audio Gain: 1 (anything higher on the beach the machine becomes really chatty)
Tones: Ptones
Tone Volume: Max (10) on all 1-60
Tone Frequency Notches 1-10: 1 (makes the 1-10 iron signals a deep grunt)
Tone Frequency Notches 11-60: 27
Tone Break: Default 1-10 Iron, 11-60 normal tones
Threshold: Default
Threshold Frequency: Default
Sensitivity: will vary but from 23-28 depending on the beach
Mode: Beach mode Multi Wet (MW)
Recovery speed : 5-6

Fun finds Jon (and Amy). Did you ever figure out what was in the barrel? kind of scary if you think about it. Yes, storms are coming - batten down the hatches - they say 6" of rain up here in the Palm Beaches in the next 48 hours... hope it pulls off some of the sand. Cheers and keep hunting!

Hey Howie, Ya know I was debating on slicing it open, BUT than I thought to myself, what if its something dangerous or hazardous since it did say corrosive on the barrel. I didn't want to cause harm to the beach or marine life. BUT, here is the odd, creepy update. When we were walking back to the truck leaving for the night, the barrel was gone... The tide did not take it as it was much too low, so someone rolled it off the beach entirely and took it. I am hoping these storms this week start ripping some sand off as well. They might because the storms are coming from west to east, Cheers!

NICE! I like watching your hunts. Your commentary is great, easy to listen to. Good finds today! All I can find on the letter M on that ring is that it's the makers mark, of course we already know that, huh. But it's a ring! And a Pandora bracelet, too! Props for using the 900. As I continue to watch, I'm commenting.. lol. Amy's Superman ring is cool. And more jewelry. You should count your earrings for the year, too 😅

The barrel was probably diesel exhaust fluid (DEF)

That earring youbsaid wasnt gold was gold the markings on gold earring like that are on the little post that goes inside yiur ear that was was a holo but 100% gold earring test it the marking will also be on the piece the little part that goes through your ear always check those😊

But that earring gold you said wasnt real it is 100% real check the part i said that goesinto your ear with a loop trust me it was 14k most likely vtg piece

That earring old is real you said is not its on the claso part use a loop look at it i swear to you that is a real earring always check the part that goes into your ear but its definitly real i ownbtons of gold earring allmpst allways the markings are on the piece that goes into your ear or threw it use a loop im saying this alot because i wont you to see it and hate to see you throw that earring away thats probabky 50 bucks atleast rught there
