On a previous video I cleaned up a cartridge and attempted to remove a label using isopropyl alcohol and a hair dryer. Several people recommended I use lighter fluid for the label, so I gave it a try. It's my new go-to for taking off stickers because it worked perfectly!!

it works and removes super glue and oil stains of concrete and work great on oil stain clothes and on removing finger nail polish

You know, Goo Gone is literally lighter fluid with citrus fragrance added. They're both Light Petroleum Distillate (insert Mr. Burns in his Early 1910's car)

You should try using water repellent that is commonly sprayed onto windshields to remove permanent marker. It actually works.

Don’t do that please windshield wiper fluid has methanol in it and methanol is poison

vegetable oil works pretty good on a paper towel. It destroys the stickiness of the adhesive

Back in the late 90s when Kmart was around and I’d buy Star Wars figures this is how I removed the big orange price stickers they slapped on them. Works like a charm.

For packaging stickers, I normally use a heat gun at a distance (depending on heat setting) and brush it around fairly quick. This generally doesn't damage the material underneath. For any remaining residue and to avoid damaging the material underneath, I'd used some weak clear adhesive tape to remove.

isopropyl alcohol has a compound in it that reacts with the adhesive better than lighter fluid because it's soluble

It's basically Naphta, which is the go to solvent for removing labels.

I always used hand sanitizer. The alcohol does the same thing but it doesn't spread everywhere

@@Iisakki3000 it doesn't, but I worked in a public school, so more volatile compounds were not allowed. I also was getting stickers off of hard plastic only, so I didn't care if I had to scrape it just a bit.

@@robertgodinho5081 most adhesives are oil based, that doesn't mean you need oil based things to remove them. Alcohol dissolves most oil based adhesives. It is very similar to something like kerosene in that way.

Magic eraser makes old cartridges look brand new. Removes smoke film and stickers like a charm.

Something that really helps me are plastic razor blades. They're kinda like artificial fingernail. Definitely worth giving a try for delicate scraping

Use WD-40. It's silicone based, so it won't hurt plastic, nor paint. I use it to clean like pine sap off my car's paint. Rear view mirror glue off a windshield(aka locktite). Just give it a moment, preferably, lift a corner to let under. But, either way. It also will not harm electronic equipment. Again, see the silicone base.

Lighter fluid Is great, it works great for that, and when trying to remove sharpie off of plastic. I used this when I’m panting figurines like gundum.

Light it up after the lighter fluid. If you don't believe me test it. The hard glue will be softened and easily peeled

For permeant marker if you go over it with a dry eraser marker the same color you can get the name off of the other cart. Just a heads up.

Just make sure you wash your hands. The zippo fluid can have some nearly reactions to skin! As long as you wash your hands with soap right afterward, you will be safe!

Use a hairdryer to warm up the adhesive, it's an old trick I learned working at a library when we'd remove stickers on new books

Olive oil does EXACTLY what goo gone does... but cheaper and is a commonly found household item.

Furniture polish like Mr min also works, leave it on for like 5 min and it wipes the sticker clean off, no damage.

Okay so most hobby shops sell these weird rubber sponges specifically designed to scrape paper stickers off of plastic. Not saying its a guarantee to work for you, but a combo of that sponge and a little acetone works great af on metal pieces. Not saying you can/should use acetone on the N64 plastic, but the rubber eraser is still a solid suggestion

I think possibly a better way and safer is to get a hair dryer and just blow hot air on it and it melts the glow then you'll be able to remove the sticker it works for other things too common method. Love your channel ❤❤❤

Yes, lighter fluid does work. It can also be used on gum. It's okay to use and you must remember that it's flammable. Be safe.

At work we use a product called Technomelt Melt-O cleaner to clean the gluing unit. It can remove stickers without even damaging it and it smells like orange 🍊

I was gonna suggest goo gone, but you're two steps ahead of me. Acetone may have also worked, although you want to get it up quick so it doesn't mess with the label

Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, acetone (nail polish remover), lighter fluid any good solvent will do the trick.

I used to work at a head shop and people used to come in for this purpose often. Ive used ot for this before myself and can say it definitely helps, but will still require some work as you can see..

Fyi, lighter fluid is just white gas, high quality kerosene. If you only have kerosene at home that will also work

I HATE second hand game stores that put adhesive labels directly on the product and/or the box if the product is boxed. I bought a mint DS Lite last year, there was an adhesive price sticker on the actual box, removing the sticker damaged the box which was otherwise immaculate. Freaking so frustrating, feels like blasphemy, Jesus what would it cost them to figure out some other way of labelling stuff…

The last time I did this I just used my thumb and a decent amount of pressure to roll everything up and finished with some alcohol. At least from what I've seen the alcohol doesn't affect the back sticker but it will ruin the front sticker

There’s an Eazy way to do it alls you have to do is the same thing with the lighter fluid but instead of scratching it off you use a Mach.but this only if your ok with the game being melted

I use industrial solvent its in a spray bottle and has a nice smell. I water it down typically unless the sticker is really thick and sticky. Sticker's are my worst enemy with retro game collecting. Nothing worse than peeling off a stack of old GameStop stickers 12 on top of each other

Really all you need is a blow drier or heat gun just like removing cell phone screens. That adhesive will wipe right up

Pour more lighter fluid next time, don't be afraid of it. You won't even need goo gone if you pour enough of it after waiting a little, it peels right off
