SOAD is one of the most versatile bands out there. Aside from their "Armenian Thrash" sound that bounces all over the place musically, their lyrics range from emotional to political to funny - sometimes all in one song. The big standouts have been mentioned in other comments here, but I'll give an extra upvote to "Prison Song" for its powerful message. Also, "Sugar" is good if you want to check out their more humorous side.

Going down the SOAD rabbit hole will consistently blow your mind and trust me you'll never see what's coming next with this band, much like Tool in that respect but of course these are two very different animals. Too many great songs to list all of em but just to name a few you should check out Sugar, Toxicity, BYOB, Aerials, Question, Spiders, Holy Mountains.
