I Was Amazed 😍 How This One Turned Out - Purple Walnut Lidded Bowl

Finding inspiration for a weekly video is sometime hard. In this video I almost fail but I was determined to have a video. I take an overpour blank consisting of walnut and TotalBoat resin off of the Shelf of Shame. I incorporate some other cut offs from my kitchen counters and make a hollow form with an amazing lid.
This video shows how inspiration and use of failed projects can lead you to make something better than the pieces you use.

Nice one, Ken! 👍🏻 You don’t necessarily have to break your back coming up with the most complex or different project for each vid. I know I am perfectly happy just watching you turn a bowl out of some pretty wood, I am sure plenty of others feel the same way. No need to over-think it! It doesn’t have to be an all new, revolutionary concept every time. 😃

Don't stress yourself over always trying to think of something different to make for us each week. The process of turning a project is what I enjoy watching and I would guess so do a lot of people. If you threw a bunch of sticks in a mold and poured the resin and then turned the same shape vase or bowl 100 times, each one would still be different and unique, and most of us would still enjoy the video :)

I love the wood Purple Heart. My favorite wood for sculpture projects. But it’s so damn dense you always end up spending most of your time sharpening your tools. Yes it gets brown when exposed to the sun so maybe purple resin is the answer.

Bless your heart. I so understand your frustration. A hiccup comes along, makes you frustrated and say words that aren't exactly the nicest in the world. We don't normally say them either. As a person who works with yarn and other fiber related items, I find my frustrations too. I find a solution and complete the project. Stepping away is always one of the best things to do. Keep on keeping on my friend. You do good work in spite of frustrating projects.

As I've gotten better at woodturning, I've started measuring my success by the reduction in outburst inducing moments. Seeing you and other youtubers have these moments just shows how easily things can go berserk.

This came out really pretty. I totally loved it. I know that it can be hard to come up with ideas and sometimes you just look at stuff and draw complete blank. But you have beautiful ideas. I remember the one you shot with your grandpa‘s shotgun or maybe it was your dad‘s shotgun. You were mad at it. I really thought that color was super pretty and in the end I was sad that you shot it up even though it was kind of funny. I thought it would be pretty to use strawberry shortcake the cartoon as a inspirational idea. Sometimes I look at your green Projects and think wow a watermelon would look really cool. Like a watermelon bowl. LOL anyway keep turning you rock!

I love the bowl! Think of it this way ... Us ladies feel very much the same way you just did when trying to get out of or staying out of cooking ruts. Honestly I have thrown larger fits than what I saw over something not going right for me. Lol don't sweat it, we love watching your therapy sessions.😉💖
