On the back of that ed and white oval brooch, does it say "SIAM"? If so, then it is antique, Siam officially became Thailand in 1939, except for a brief period in 48'-49'. Might want an expert to look at it.

I would bet the Siam sterling brooch is sterling Yana. Whatever it’s coated in is messing up your tests. FYI enamel on sterling is a very difficult process and very costly. I’m sorry you’re disappointed, for perspective this is a typical bag I see lots of sellers getting. The treasure hunt continues.💜

I'm pretty sure the silver mesh is actually a gogo skirt kinda it goes around the hips and clasps sut on one side the cross pattern goes around the hip I think
