Beautifully said. Thank you for sharing your story! You are right: Jesus is the only way. The good news is, He is available to everyone. God doesn't ask us to clean up and then come to Him, but to come to Him for Him to clean up. If we could do it ourselves, we wouldn't need him. God bless you as you grow in your faith!

My view of life is completely different from yours. I am an atheist and I am not looking for the meaning of life. In my opinion, the mystery of life isn't a problem to solve but a reality to experience.

Understandable, people need to find their truth they can live by, Ive had difficulties with socializing and anxiety and so much more almost my entire life cause im autistic, but I just live by compassion, my love for the world, all of the natural laws that guide it, and logic. But for some people its religion and thats been an important source of strength through history, despite all the pain it can be used to create
@Jason-rl7nf11 ай бұрын
Everything can be used to create/cause pain. It's not science's fault that people used it to make atom bombs and guns. Just like it's not religion's fault that people used it to make cults and false prophets. The common denominator is human beings. We are fallen.
@beyondonethousand8 ай бұрын
Please find the truth that exists only in Christ. It is the only way to eternity. The alternative is damnation. Please don’t shut the door. Give God a chance. God loves you. The world does not. It uses you. Be well and safe.
@stefansauvageonwhat-a-twis13698 ай бұрын
Hey Im open, but the interpretation that that following only one belief is the only way Christ can let you into eternity is pretty insulting to Christ. He only came around 2000 years ago, and only to a small part of the world, following him is a privilege and im not ok with a god that dooms most of his people without a chance. Even if I someone wanted to follow everyone has a different interpretation, people shouldn't have the pride to think that somehow only they know the true meaning of his teachings, have you ever put things through google translate a few times, everything gets messed up with translation, rewritings and time, you cant even follow the texts. Thats why the only way for me to follow Christ is to follow the heart he may have given me, and do my best. At least thats how I see it

I’m glad you were able to find peace and comfort in faith. I think every person has a point in their life where they contemplate their own existence and our place in the Universe. I’m not a believer. I’ve come to terms in my own way. Rather than attribute meaning to my existence, I find it empowering to embrace my insignificance and accept that humans are just blips in the cosmos. As long as you’re happy, healthy, and loving others instead of hating, I’m happy for you. Keep on dancing and smilin 😊

I believe that as long as you're happy, it doesn't matter what you believe or what you put your hope into. Be it religion, family, progress, experiences... as long as you're not doing harm to others, or negatively conditioning the way they're living, you should always do the things you love and that give you the drive to wake up in the morning. But please, never fall to believe that those that don't do the same as you are doing things badly or will be not saved. The parachute you put on when you jump into this thing called life can take many shapes. Amongst the hundreds of religions and philosophies in life, everyone has to choose the one that calls to them. But most importantly, remember to live life to the fullest. Many people as well fail to live theirs, being too focused on what's to come after it. We don't know what awaits us behind the veil, so do be sure to enjoy the ride we're in right now

That sounds very pleasant for while you are alive, but Christianity is more about what happens after you die, and about the nature of the universe. It is not a self-help philosophy, although personal growth is one by-product.

@idontknowgirll11 ай бұрын
So sehr liebt Gott dich. 🤍

Hey Smilin, You may remember a few years ago when you uploaded a video of you dancing to: "Hit the Road Jack", I left a comment on that video, from an old account which is now gone. My comment said: "This is how I want to be welcomed into Heaven", and you replied with a ❤ and said you wanted to be an electro swing dancing angel, 😊 I've been swing dancing for about two years straight and it's almost all I do with my life now. In fact, I joined a local swing dancing group and I'm now a member of the local swing dancing committee. I've been to multiple swing dancing festivals up and down the country and last year, I was at the Herräng Dance Camp, in Sweden, for a month working as a chef. While working there I got free dance lessons from some of the top instructors in the world... including Chester Whitmore, a tap-dancer who knew Cab Calloway when he was younger. I'll be going there again this June and wont be coming back until August. I want you to know this... you inspired that. So, in a way, you ARE an electro swing dancing angel! I'm so happy to see you found inner peace and I wish you all the love only God can give, x

Well, I guess I'll have to be That Guy. As an atheist I don't understand why reality isn't enough. We don't need gods--or faeries, or ghosts, or any other such thing. All we need is truth, _real_ truth, that be verified and measured. The idea of a universe with hundreds of billions of galaxies, each with hundreds of billions of stars, all created solely for some primates on a backwater planet in a backwater galaxy just doesn't fit the facts. And that's before going into religion's rather poor relationship with pretty much anyone, believers or not, the many and varied religions that existed _before_ any of the Abrahamaic ones, and on and on and on. I don't mean to sound like a party-pooper, but I can't get behind something that flies in the face of reality so completely. I try to be a good person just because I think that's the better way to live, not being I'm afraid of some invisible friend's retribution if I weren't. I try to learn, and keep learning, rather than being content with what a handful of sheep herders thought a few thousand years ago.
@Matko72211 ай бұрын
As Atheist you rely on science. And how much wisdom do you think science has discovered yet? what if God is in a realm, that science hasn‘t discovered yet? By your logic, all things only become reality at the point science discover it. But for example what about Gravity? Wasnt it there before Isaac Newton discovered it? Thanks for calling the Bible an old book, that means, despite of persecution and burning of the bibles, it has been tried and tested and is today the most translated and selled book in the world. I would assume, if there is an God, he would care about his word and man couldnt destroy it.

@Thylonicus11 ай бұрын
@@Matko722 A) God-of-the-gaps argument. The idea that "if we don't know X, God must be X." That's fallacious because it's historically untrue. Every time we've not known something, someone's claimed their gods were responsible. Then we learn about it and realize no gods had anything to do with it. My favorite example is Sir Isaac Newton--the guy who invented calculus almost just on a lark. He made incredible advances in physics, mathematics, and astronomy, including the laws of motion and universal gravitation. And yet the stability of the solar system and the motion of the planets were something he couldn't figure out, and as such, he declared it must be "god's hand". Later, mathematicians such as Pierre-Simon Laplace improved on Newton's theories without needing to assign divinity. When asked about God not being part of the equation, Laplace famously said , "I had no need for that hypothesis." The universe runs just fine without any gods. TL;DR: Every time we learn something new about the universe, we learn gods had nothing to do with it. This makes "Maybe God is in what we don't know" a fallacious statement. B) The Bible hasn't been accurate on anything. At all. To be fair, it doesn't actually make any predictions until the book of Revelation, and even then it's more about symbolic imagery than actual predictions, so it's difficult to really argue about whether or not the Bible is right on anything. That said, what we can examine, the Bible is horrifically wrong. Its morality especially so. "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ." - Ephesians 6:5 biblegateway DOT com/passage/?search=Ephesians+6%3A5&version=NIV "Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord." -Colossians 3:22 biblegateway DOT com/passage/?search=colossians+3%3A22&version=NIV I could go on. The amount of passages telling slaves to be content in their bondage is, frankly, obscene and morally reprehensible. How about women? "Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord." - Colossians 3:18 biblegateway DOT com/passage/?search=colossians+3%3A18&version=NIV "Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything." - Ephesians 5:22:24 biblegateway DOT com/passage/?search=Ephesians+5%3A22-24&version=NIV "Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." - 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 biblegateway DOT com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+14%3A34-35&version=NIV Again, I could go on. TL,DR: The idea of the Bible being right in anything is simply incorrect, and that's a good thing. C) Religions that existed _before_ the Abrahamic trio are still known. Their "word" is still intact. We have a surprisingly-large picture of the theological landscape of ancient Mesopotamia, which existed before even the religions that inspired the Abrahamic religions existed. Plus the sheer volume of religions with their "word" intact is both staggering and telling. If we're going by that metric, then a lot of religions are just as valid as the Abrahamic ones. As such, any religion having a lot of adherents and their related texts copied doesn't actually mean anything. D) Finally, a little logical puzzle. Consider the evils of the world, leaving out natural disasters and all that, considering only the inhuman, barbaric atrocities visited upon one human being by another. Why does no god intervene? "Free will" only goes so far, because by allowing the free will of the attacker, the free will of the attacked is removed. So, we have three solutions: One, if God exists, he is unable to intervene, and therefor not omnipotent. Two, if God exists, he is unwilling to intervene, therefore evil. Three, God does not exist.

@@Thylonicus Wow, i didnt reckon with such a long answer, but all your claims are easy and logical to disprove. but for future please keep it short and simple, and dont open new topics. A. I never claimed that the reason for unkown things is God. The only fallacious thing is, that you putting words in my mouth. I just *asked*, what if science hasnt discovered God yet? So your long answer based on a fallacy was unnecessary. By the end you concluded, that science discovered nature laws. But here is a puzzle for you: Who created and defined nature laws? The complex order of the universe points to an intelligent designer. In the last 50 years it was discovered that life in the universe does not only need time and luck, but the initial conditions for life had to be given already at the Big Bang. For the universe to allow life, for example, gravity and the weak interaction in the atom must be fine tuned to 1:10^100. That is a higher number than there are atoms in the universe at all! So we can conclude: 1. The fine tuning of the universe is based either on physical necessity, pure chance or intelligent design. 2. There is no need of physical necessity and the probability by chance is sheer impossible. 3. Therefore the best explanation is intelligent design by an intelligent creator. B. C. and D. to deviate from topic shows all the readers your insecurity from his first argument. but heres a short answer: B. Thank you for showing the audience that you dont know the bible. Because the bible commands us to be just and fair to slaves: colossions 4,1 „Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.“ ephesians 6:9 „Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.“ why didnt you show us these verses? In comparision to pagan cultures the bible gives a moral standard to care for slaves and dont misuse them. If a Hebrew went homeless he could sell himself to another Fellow, that would give him a roof. And after 6 working years the bible commands us that the slave should get free (exodus 21). If you want to argue from the bible make sure you know the bible. additionally if you have a supervisor in your job, you are a modern slave. In your working time, you have to follow his commands, but the law protects you from unjust behavior. in the same way the bible gives protection from the slaves owner. C. I never claimed that surviving texts is an indicator for truth. But of all the ancient texts we have the bible experienced a persecution like none other and is still the most read and selled book of all times. I pointed to an astonishing fact, and made an assumption: That if there is a God, thats exactly what would happen. D. If you want to open the moral topic, then please tell me who tells you what is right and wrong? If there is no God and we came from billions of years of evolution, then there is no objective moral. You can tell yourself what in YOUR own eyes is good. But you cant tell your next what in his eyes should be good - remember your own argument? ;) dont remove the free will of your fellow! Ever heard of Survival of the Fittest? By your standards the strongest decides what right and false is. for your "logical puzzle": It is logically possible that God and evil exist. This is not a logical dilemma, but an emotional dilemma of yours. Every philosophy student learns that without God there is no objective moral. Maybe God has good reasons to allow evil, maybe there is a bigger picture, that you cant see! who are you to tell the creater of the world, how the world should run? So here is a 4th solution: Christians can argue confidently: 1. If God does not exist, then moral values and duties do not exist. 2- However, moral values and duties do exist. 3. Accordingly, a moral giver exists - God.

@@Matko722 "[...] for future please keep it short and simple, and dont open new topics." Why? And why do you claim authority on the format of debates on KZfaq, of all things? Anyway, I didn't put words in your mouth. You yourself admitted to saying "what if science hasn't discovered God yet". That, as I pointed out, is the classic God-of-the-gaps argument. That's not putting words in your mouth; that's not claiming you said something you didn't actually say. That's taking exactly what you did say and responding to it. I don't know how else to respond directly to what you said other than, you know, to respond directly to what you said. I'll give you deviation with the logical puzzle, but, again, the other two points were _directly responding_ to your own points. You mentioned the survival of the "Word", and I mentioned that a lot of religions have had their "word" survive, including religions that existed before Christianity, Judaism, or Islam, so that didn't mean anything. How much more directly could I possibly respond? As for the moral topic, as for "who tells me what's right and wrong"--I tell me. Put less colloquially, I make the choices as to what I find moral and immoral behavior, as to what I find acceptable and not acceptable. My paradigm, like everyone's is a collection of opinions, experiences, and more, and from that I decide my code of ethics and morality. Everyone does that. You make the choice to adhere to an external code of conduct or not. The mistake I think you're making is that because there is no objective morality, there is no morality, period. That, as any philosophy student can tell you, is simply fallacious and spurious. I think we have more than enough evidence that there is no objective morality, and yet we see people acting on their own morality all the time. Your morality isn't a copy of mine, but that doesn't mean either of us act without _any_ morality. As for "maybe God has good reasons to allow evil". Just--no. I cannot accept any deity allowing children to suffer horrifically "for a good reason". I can never accept people being utterly brutalized and emotionally destroyed by people that are supposed to care for them "for a good reason". That is not only nonsensical, but logically false and morally repugnant. A being that can literally do anything, as is what "omnipotent" means, can achieve their goals without allowing the innocent to suffer. A being that knows everything, as is what "omniscient" means, can plan their goals without requiring brutality and dehumanization of the innocent. If those things are in fact required for a being's plan, then I call that plan evil, and the being morally vapid and undeserving of worship. Lastly, your "fourth argument". You say that "if God does not exist, then moral values and duties do not exist". I would argue that _objective_ moral values and duties do not exist, pointing to the sheer number of codes of ethics and morals held by humanity throughout time. Success of the people can't be an indicator of accuracy, as too many cultures of opposing ideologies were successful. As such, we can say that "because no _objective_ moral values and duties exist, then no moral-giver and duty-assigner exists." That's pretty much the atheist argument in a nutshell. Or, putting it a bit more tongue-in-cheek, when you say, "if God does not exist, then moral values and duties do not exist", I say, "Exactly."

I’ve always loved your dance vids. Now you are talking Christ, I must give you my book recommendation. Schwanenflügel: Eine spirituelle Autobiographie. Teil I Kindheit und Jugend. Judith von Halle I hope you keep dancing. In one of the gnostic gospels Jesus says “he who does not dance does not understand what is going on.”

I was scrolling through my subscriptions trying to find a specific channel (interestingly enough, one for a church a few states over I have some friends at), and I saw your channel and was like “Hey, I haven’t seen stuff from her for awhile, what’s she up to?” So I clicked in and discovered this… what wonderful timing this is! I completely agree about how Christianity should really have a practical difference in how you live your life and show love to one another, and that difference is something you can really feel and others can experience from the changes in your life. I will say that as you read more in the scriptures, there is a bit more you need to do beyond purely belief, but I’m definitely glad to see you have started working your way to the right path of life! (A few passages you may want to check out: Mark 16:16, John 3:5, 1 Peter 3:21, acts 8:26-38)

@@beyondonethousand Linda's testimony is irrelevant in this case. Except if "your purpose" was directed only to Linda and not meant to be taken as if they made a claim about the purpose of every woman. Even though it's still weird to say what's the purpose of someone else than yourself. We do not have the knowledge to make claims like that.
