Bradley's "Sweepman" was based on a guitar technique called "sweep picking" where you essentially rake or SWEEP the pick across the strings while doing some incredibly fast legato arpeggio runs on the other hand. You might notice that Bradley's doing very little picking for the actual number of notes that he's producing and that's thanks to sweep picking. Now onto the same encouragement I gave you on a previous review where you talked about wanting to learn guitar - do it! The only real thing that sets you apart from the players in this video (besides maybe their own personal creativity) is 1) practice, 2) practice, and 3).... practice. And the younger you start, the better. I want to see an Alex Plays Guitar series next year with a monthly progress upload. You can do it!!!
@brennenconlee437
@brennenconlee437 9 ай бұрын
@dragonballfanscantread2383that’s a silly take. You can have a feeling and want to communicate it, but if you lack the technical capacity and at least foundational theory understanding you won’t be communicating anything
@brennenconlee437
@brennenconlee437 9 ай бұрын
@dragonballfanscantread2383 true, but you said “nothing matters but a desire to communicate.” I couldn’t communicate jack shit on an oboe, cause I don’t have a base level of technical skill.

Onyx morales was my favorite this year!! To answer a couple questions that i remember you having That microphone thing that rafa was using is called a talk box.. you control the sound contortion by making sound with your voice (the guitarist of Bon Jovi uses it in Living on a Prayer) The guitar that Drewsif was using is the Tosin Abasi brand of guitars The guitars with the headstock cutoff are called headless guitars and i believe they are meant to serve tuning stability A couple of people are playing dual and triple neck guitars.. it was common of them previously to have a 6 string guitar on one neck and a 12 string guitar on another neck and if there was a 3rd neck itd usually be a bass guitar.. now they’ve gone totally wild and i think this is to achieve different tunings I would say that most everyone in these shred collabs has at least a working knowledge of music theory and scales.. and their talent widely varies in how they apply these various techniques and methods Finally.. as a guitarist whose been playing for 20+ years and still can’t play 1/4 of this stuff.. it really just takes practice and desire.. some people are naturally gifted at picking things up super fast.. ive always been more of a rhythm player and haven’t dedicated much time to lead guitar techniques.. But if you want to pick up a guitar and just play it.. do it.. it’s fun and rewarding when you figure things out Love your videos Alex!!

The difference in skill level is soul. Definitely can tell when it's there or when it's missing. As far as solos go, think of it as coming up with bars in a battle rap, you practice and have some in your arsenal but the more you practice, the better you get at improv.

the hardest when first learning to guitar is getting to the point where u start to enjoy it. which is hard for alot people because most beginning players tend to to think u have to press the frets really hard and are super tensed up. ive found the lighter the touch u can get away with the better off youll be. also thumb placement on the kneck is overlooked.

This is so much fun. I love it. And when you asked about skill level and if people could interchange parts and whatnot, it's often less about skill level when they're all this good, and more about style of play. They could probably work on it and learn different riffs and solos, but each person is going to play it differently and everyone prefers different sounds. It's all amazing, though.

7:34 If you started RIGHT NOW... and practiced literally daily, even on the days you didn't want to, and constantly strove to better yourself at it every. single. day. then yes, you can definitely play as good as many of these players. Maybe not as well as those who were "born with a guitar in their hands," but anyone can learn anything with enough willpower, dedication, and practice. I've recently started learning the drum kit, and while I can do a pretty standard rock beat, I'm practicing every day at 41 years old because by the time I'm 50, I would like to consider myself "decent" with the kit :)

so many amazing artists. And a bunch of new material to react to. Check out Luca Stricagnoli - FEEL GOOD INC. He was the one that played the "3 guitar guitar.

19:13 most times it's just because it looks cool but some things are easier to play when your playing overhand, for example the electric guitar intro to through the fire and flames by Dragonforce is much easier to play overhand because of the distance between frets. Overall the practical application of the overhand technique would be to make large stretches easier to play
