🇨🇴 PART TWO: The Darien Gap is known as the world's most dangerous jungle. I had heard of the Darien many years ago through National Geographic and it had both fascinated and intimidated me. I knew one day I would have to visit...
When the word Darien started appearing in the news in recent years by way of the migrant crises I decided that now was the time to explore it for myself. And so myself and my good friend @TimmyKarter headed north from Medellin in search of a way across the infamous jungle, avoiding cartel and bandits, injury and tropical diseases, on an adventure with migrants from all over the world where national laws don't apply. Only the laws of the jungle.
Join us as we enter...the Darien.

I shook your hand and spoke briefly to you before wishing you well on your trip after you kindly offered a photo with me. If I would have comprehended the gravity of the trip you two were about to undertake I would have insisted on saying a prayer for you. You are half mad, but I can't get enough of it.

The mix of emotions I felt watching this: extreme compassion, increased gratitude, frustration that people have to go through this at all, relief that you and those you traveled with survived. You were divinely protected so the world can see what people have to go through to have a better life. As a mother of a toddler, seeing those babies being carried through it all made me feel so foolish for complaining about carrying my child up 1 flight of stairs. I pray that God protects those who will begin the journey and those who are traversing the Darien now, and comforts those who lost loved ones along the way. This is easily the most engrossing Baldi video I've seen yet. This is next level stuff. We all know he has some balls but man, this is something else. What struck me as I watched through this video is that they must both have made connections with the people they were sharing the experience with - you can't go through all that together and not make a bond. It's something none of us can imagine without having done it. And sure enough Ben mentions this himself, towards the end. It seems unlikely he will know the fate of his fellow travellers but it's a small world and I would love to know in future if they met again. I truly hope that those people found better lives for themselves and their families. Baldi, thank you for sharing this incredible journey !

Understandable that america can not take everyone in. Though, a lot of the issues do stem from america. Like the guy said. Sanctions under maduro hit venezuela currency hard. Now what has venezuela ever done to us. That they deserved to get sanctions put on them? Last time i checked. The sanction came because we didnt agree with an election. Which is silliest reason to put economic sanctions on a country. Though, i am just saying. It is a sad reality. Though, america is a huge reason for all of this, with their 2nd amendment and economic sanctions on these countries. Its too bad america politicians cant see that their policies are the number 1 cause of mass migration.

It’s sad and that’s the reason some immigrants come to the USA and work their asses off. So even though Americans also struggle here with jobs, money, etc, it’s nowhere near as bad as other countries. I just wish there was a better/closer place for good, hard working people to immigrate to.

Yeah they are humans, and the countries they are invading and taking advantage of also have humans. If you do not have borders and let anyone in to your country your economy suffers especially when millions of tax dollars go towards programs to give these people smart phones and bus them across the United States. The majority of them develop ghettos and the majority of them do not see themselves as Americans because they want to cash a check in America and then leave at the expense of American citizens. They do not care about you, you think you are virtuous by helping them but most of them would kill you for $1,000.
