cypress hill i s an area in southgate, in LA. I believe both breal and sen dog are cuban. i read an article about the time this song came out that they were still active gang members at the time. they had huge beef with ICe cube and wrote some dis tracks

This is a Hip Hop group that happens to be Latino. The first rapper is B-Real and he is Mexican and Cuban American. The second rapper is Sen Dog (Mellow Man Ace’s brother) was born in Cuba and moved to California when he was young. The DJ/Producer is DJ Muggs and he is Caucasian and was born in New York. He has a very unique sound. He produced the beat for House of Pain’s Jump Around and has produced for other groups as well. Cypress Hill was always about smoking weed and talking about gang life on the West Coast (LA). Their most popular songs are upbeat party songs but they have some harder hitting songs.
