Sparkle's buttons were most likely a precausion if the Astral Express and Company didn't find out the truth. If she detonated all the buttons and made a "clean slate" then the Order's dream would collapse (or at least she thought it would). But...she could have also placed them to just cause chaos. I really don't know. I feel like I am straw picking, but I feel like it could also be true because Sparkle is completely unpredictable and has her own agenda.

@@vaguelyjang I think the Charmony Festival won't be canceled anymore, that's when Sparkle will use those buttons. Also, those things look like a detonator of some sorts but it doesn't necessarily mean it's for bombs. Just let her cook first. 😆

Personally, it is. Aventurine's story, Mikhail's, Firefly's, Acheron's, and also Robin and Sunday's are heartwarming, despite the stuff they went through in the process, in the end it pays off. TB and Firefly's relationship, also the overall morale lesson from the story is wholesome.

Eh, that was nothing. He only killed 2 characters for real this time (and had 2 fake outs). Either way, Shaoji cooked and I say keep him in the kitchen, cause what he's serving is absolutely magnificent. HI3 spoilers below for Elysian Realm (Simulated Universe equivalent and chapters 29 through 31). For context as to his record, he killed the 13 flamechaser sims that remained (Elysia was killed twice... three times?) alongside the herrscher of corruption of that era, not the previous era one which was stored in the block box and ultimately killed Sakura and doomed Kallen. Bringing his kill count to 14 to 16 (depends on if you count the multiple Elysia takedowns or not) in one patch of named characters you interact with.

I had the screenshot of that sun line from the stream, saved on my phone ever since. When the Penacony story started, I felt like Sunday was the most likely candidate to say it. So soon as Sunday started talking about the sun with the dreammaster and right before the boss fight, I knew it was coming. It was nice to finally know what this was in reference to.

When I look back on the 2.0 livestream, I think what Shaoji really meant was that the message penacony gave was wholesome, because the actual quest is like actual ptsd fuel. (like Himeko’s death from HI3) “Keep moving forward, carry the legacy of the people who have gone before you.” “Blaze your own trail.” That’s what I think he meant, but it’s funny how many people took his words literally XD.

2.0 and 2.1 we were all just screaming at the guy "HOW IS THIS HEARTWARMING?!?!!?!?!?" Now... Well I can see why he said that. Aventurine's story made me cry I love him so much, Acheron turned out to be a pretty great character, Black Swan never actually betrayed us and always had our backs, the Meme just turned out to be a fucking taxi between dream worlds named Sleepie, Gallagher was never actually a killer or a bad guy, Misha finally got his closure, Robin and Sunday got closer to eachother, Firefly has gotten closer to what she was promised in the script. She also made important friends the astral express, (Mostly just us but at least if we trust her the rest will too), I dont know what sparkle was after so I wont speak for what she got but at least she helped Aventurine.

Uh...he's right, though. Kind of. Penacony's story is painful, but in the words of Acheron before the true boss battle: "It's not about convincing people to choose the right path. It's about inspiring people to save themselves." As someone who suffers from clinical depression for 21 years, that hits close to home. The entire thing about 'waking up' and 'dreams were supposed to make you stronger when you wake up and inspire you to go on with your life' really resonates with me, too, because I have a tendency for escapism - since I was a child, I keep wishing to have been born in a different world, probably due to things sucking hard and my depression. But now that I have an amazing partner and people who love, support and inspire me at every step of the way, I wanted to wake up. I think Penacony's story was really about that at the heart of it. So, basically, Shaoji was right. I owe him my life. Penacony is a wonderful yet painful story about acceptance, grief, and moving on, and that's how it should be.

@@zlash1148 Go check at 0:07. Shaoji said "Yesterday, we just finished the main story's script that was nearing the ending". Then he talks about Sunday's line in 2.2. That means they finished 2.2 or 2.3 script less than 3 months ago because the 2.0 livestream was aired less than 3 months ago. That means they're not 1 year in advance anymore.

I've always felt that the original dub for Chinese anime felt pretty soulless. Like everyone was just saying their lines. You couldn't even tell if they were being sarcastic. Just like reading text on a screen.

Chinese as a language in general has a flatter entonation range compared others, regardless of medium. Wouldnt callt their deliver less emotional tho.

Hard disagree as someone who understands CN. The line delivery in CN is giving a Sunday that is in control, firm in his beliefs and rigid in his convictions but dangerous. Chinese is a tonal language and does not need big dramatic variations to convey emotion. Also from a cultural context perspective, raising ones voice and being very expressive is a sign of being uninhibited/hotheaded which is not who Sunday is. He is the archetype of a mild-mannered sophisticated gentleman (see Confucian etiquette) who acts and speaks with conscious intent and is in command of his emotions. His line delivery here is 'cold' because it should be.
