Glad you liked it. And since you've got to the end I have some fun facts that I've been dying to share. 1. The creator of Maya and the Three is the same person that created the Book of life. 2. Lady Micte and Lady Muerte are actually sisters. Making the latter Maya's Aunt. And you can actually see her, along with Xibalba and the Candlemaker in the background of flashback sequence of Lady Micte and Miclan's wedding. 3. When the series came out there were theories that Maria and Manolo are the reincarnations of Maya and Zatz (since they share the Same VA's) and the creator later confirmed this.

@@ninalily While they were the sun and moon. I guess after a few thousand years of this, their souls had finally reincarnated. Or Zatz and Maya finally wanted to pass on so they could be with their family in the afterlife. Tbh I loved the theory too and thought it would be nothing but a fun little fan theory. Or that was until the creator himself had come out confirmed it.

I think it is confirmed some of the director’s works are part of his universe, such as Maya and the Three and The Book of Life, that’s why La Catrina and Xibalba are on episode 8 (there’s also a series about Mexican culture that’s part of this universe, but I don’t remember the name)

I guess nobody mentioned it here yet but It has been confirmed that Maria and Manolo are actually the reincarnation of Maya and Zatz (The same characters were also voiced by Zoe Zaldaña and Diego Luna) This is why La muerte was so invested in getting Maria and Manolo together in the Book of life. Xibalba is Mictlan's brother (i guess?) La Muerte is Lady Micte's sister You can see both of them attend Mictlan and Micte's wedding.

I love that they brought voice actors from the book of life, into this amazing series! Maya and Maria had the same voice actor, as well as Zatz and Manolo having the same voice actor as well! Also wanted to comment on the EXTREME foreshadowing from the first episode where Ah Puch said while Maya being crowned “Princess Maya will be the Sun!” ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! Last thing, when Lady Micte was telling her story. You could see La muerte and her husband from the book of life present. 10/10 show! Absolutely amazing!

This series was incredible! Everything from the themes to the characters to the art direction, animation, voice acting, sound design etc. all came to together for one amazing final product. And can we talk about how Maya actually dies at the end, like how many animated shows, or just shows in general kill off the main character! But when you think about it, it fits with the themes of the story and the cultures this show takes inspiration from. I hope more people react to this show because honestly, I feel it doesn't get talked about enough!

Rukiya, after I watched this episode, I watched Maya and the Three with my brother and my mom. We just finished last night, and I knew that literally almost EVERYONE will die but I did not expect myself to cry like a baby when it ended.
