I will always appreciate and recognize Paul Schoeffler for doing a phenomenal job as voice actor, because unlike Chris Pratt, Paul is very good at bringing out uniqueness and different styles in the characters he is selected to voice, they don't all sound like Paul Schoeffler For anyone that doesnt know who this guy is, he was responsible for like 80% of the villains in the cartoon network show from the 90s called "Courage the Cowardly Dog"

Correction, Garfield doesn't just run into his Dad, his dad doesn't just show up. Garfield and Ottie get abducted by these two dogs right out of their home to lure out Garfield's Dad who shows up to try to get them out of that situation cause the white cat hates him for abandoning her and causing her to get thrown in the pound and forces Garfield and his dad into this whole heist situation.

the whole point of Garfield was that he was a stand in for Jon's inner monologue, or rather Jim Davies'. A jaded cynic with a nihilistic view on life brought on by what he thinks are injustices but are rather his - stingyness - lazyness - inability to connect - inability to pick up social cues Jons a pushover Garfield isnt Jon cant get a date Garfield pushes cats girls away Jon never comments on mondays, never comments on fast foods, pretends he needs to eat various foods Garfield openly hates mondays, loves greasy foods, and would (if possible) live off his favourite (lasagna) To make a good garfield, all you need to do is make him a lazy sarcastic ass who never gets involved with anything. The focus NEEDS to be on John, with Garfield commenting on the side. The plot can be "john needs to do X, but needs Garfield to do it" (e.g. Jon needs to win cat show to impress Liz). Garfield isnt hyper, isnt a prankster, isnt a jokester. His humour comes from viewing an otherwise normal situation as a jaded nihilistic ass, or runining a completely wholesome moment.

i went to see this with my cousin cuz she was hyped for it and it wasn’t until we sat down that we realised we actually had no idea what the movie was going to be about. like all the ads we’d seen just showcased garfield and not the actual plot of the movie😭 we ended up leaving 30 minutes in from how unbearably boring it was

I just wanna point out that since the cats are a gang it refers to animal control as a cats equivalent to 5'O, so the gang leader was saying that Garfields dad ratted her out to the PoPo which landed her in the pound to do jail time.

I love a=how so many reviewers are all like "This movie did not make the history books as the greatest thing of all time!! I t did not male me stop and question my reality or give me deep introspective thoughts. Therefore bad movie!" This move was no masterpiece, but it was a fun watch. Not every movie has to be perfect or mind blowing. It was a comedy movie that told jokes and had a simple story. Sometime that's all there needs to be.

Despite Chris Pratt doing the voice for garfield, I was initially excited about the movie because I loved the animation style. Then I saw the trailer and that the story had nothing to do with Garfield and his relationships with the people of his house... Which is the core part of Garfield's stories. (Especially when John gets a girlfriend and it takes attention away from him.) Instead we get a by-the-numbers kidnap/ heist movie with other stuff... Like... WHY?

Classic Cash grab that rely on nostalgia that was made by corporate people who doesn't even know who is Garfield.

I just never can watch any animation with Chris Pratt, the most one dimensional voice actor to exist, because I can’t get into it. At least Aquafina has a couple changes and decent roles. But you can only play yourself once before it doesn’t make sense again
