I brought out the birding gear along with me while... skiing?!? That's right I hit the slopes while also searching for some unique alpine birds.
The day was honestly incredible. The weather was perfect, I saw some amazing species that are only found in the higher alpine regions, and enjoyed some skiing. Black Rosy-Finches, nuthatches, chickadees and more featured throughout this video! Alta Ski Resort has a very unique birding culture that overlaps slightly with the incredible skiing scene. In fact, there are monthly events where birding groups head out on skis! Read more about the history of Alta's birding in the link below:
