$18,000 for electrical service down to $8,100 after fighting with the power company

When I first consulted with the power company about getting electrical service back to the new house they wanted to charge me $18,000 after I already paid for all of the conduit and labor to install it. I started this journey in June 2023 after 9 to 10 months of going back-and-forth with the power company getting multiple examples of other jobs in the surrounding area being very much cheaper than what they quoted me. The last engineer I dealt with was super helpful and very respectful. I wish I could say the same about some of the previous engineers from the power company that being said after a lot of going back-and-forth, we finally came to a settlement of $8100. Let me know what you think if this is still over priced or a fair deal.

Yeah, it’s definitely gonna help because everything else is way more expensive than I thought it was gonna be. I got a price of $40,000 for Duct Work and two furnaces. 😳

That’s good that you stood your ground and presented a good argument to the power company. The stairs do look a bit steep, but not bad unless you have a few beers lol. Yep, a functional toilet is a must 😁

Yeah, I was a little bummed about the steps, but there was a glitch on the building plans. No one caught the finish floor finish floor measurement was 12 inches off so thank goodness we were still able to make it work. 🤞🏻

Have them set a meter at the pole or on a post and trench the power yourself.

I did actually look into that option but with the price of wire and the voltage drop 800 feet back. The size wire I needed was going to cost me $15,000 then I owned it at least this wire is 4160 primary are going to a transformer, I signed over a utility easement/right away to the power company and they assumed ownership of everything so if it fails in two years, it’s on them not me

@@fatefarmspa you should be able to get triplex wire for 2k, to run 200amp, and 500 on an excavator
