This video was really hard to make.
I really wanted to explain why I think it is important that people reconnect with where their food actually comes from.
And that we should endeavour to take more personal responsibility for for ethical food sourcing.
I am worried that all people will see is “she shot bambi!!” … and it will stop them from thinking clearly about what I was really trying to get across.
Hopefully as I progress on my YT journey I will get better at story telling and conveying of information….
As for this video…I have tried…
I wish I had captured more footage of the weekend itself, I was so absorbed by the activity (and the cold was annihilating my GoPro battery!).
That I missed a lot of the activity… I can only apologise.
I felt that Dave Johnsons ‘Forest to Fork’ course was exactly the experience I was looking for.
If you would like to do a similar course yourself please contact Dave via email:
davexjohnson@googlemail.com
I cannot say enough good things about the course and Dave.
This video is likely a one off, but is a subject I am feeling more strongly about all the time.
Back to wild camping, hill walking and crafting for now….

Respect to you Annie for wanting to experience something which is so fundamental to life, if you eat meat or fish of course. Having respect for your quarry and the food thereafter was something my dad instilled in me and of which I am personally grateful for. Great video.

Very thought provoking video, I try not to think about where my food comes from I’ve definitely disconnected to allow me to eat food I enjoy eating. When watching I was so glad your blurred the deer as I was worried about seeing it but weirdly I watched the carcass part ok which again I had disconnected from the animal and it was just meat. Gave me lots to think about xx
