I love Sis Thandi. Her story resonates so much with me, her experiences and mine very similar. Battled mental ossues for thr longest time, from as early as 13 although I wasn't sure what to label it as yet. Now, the only things I need is to be a savvy businesswoman like she is! It will happen. P.S you're a beautiful woman Sis Thandi. Thank you for sharing us with you!

Sisi Lebo and your team I hope you'll consider to have an episode about mental health experienced by men, and also families who have family members who have mental health, their experience with having to deal with someone you love going through mental health. As someone who has been diagnosed with mental health (depression) I wouldn't have been sane or at a better place if I didn't have my family, especially my dad. They need to tell their story too, to the world to help those who don't know how to be supportive to their love ones or be better at supporting their love ones. 🌻

Hey sis Lebo, in the interest of destigmatising mental health we also need to be mindful of the language we use. Some politically correct and less stigmatizing terms are: Pyschiatric Healthcare Facilities/ Mental Health Units/Behavioural Healthcare Facilities. "Mental Institution" only feeds into the stigma.

And so very very homesick 😔. Watching this episode, I keep thinking "Ke ing ka bo ntate ba rona???" Is it just me, or there plenty of issues to be discussed about our African fathers? Perhaps there are cultural and historic answers there. Have you already explored this issue?

They say the brain has a way to box emotions that we are not ready to deal with. It's like a defence mechanism. Some people in a long run when the brain is mature enough to deal with boxed emotions, one tends to react. Unfortunately we then mostly react negatively if not well addressed . The I DON'T CARE or NOT MOVED emotion is also a way to deal with his absence it doesn't make you a bad person 9r a weak or strong person or cold, NO. That 8s just your brain dealing with that specific emotion.

I hope the government starts prioritizing mental health and its services; I believe c0v!d has shown us how important taking care of our minds actually is & that it's nothing to be taken lightly. May psychologists and therapists be paid more money; and more funding for students who want to go into this field. Thank you to these two ladies for their bravery to share their stories; the journey must have been hard (and probably continues to be) but at least you have seen the light and came out stronger and more self-aware. May we, as a society, be kinder to each other - *think before you speak; if it's not nice, you don't have to say it; not everything you think should be said*; sort of vibes. Be considerate to one another and mutual respect. Honestly.

Watching this is triggering 😭😭 I was admitted 2 years ago. I’m currently in therapy again... depression and anxiety is real. I think there’s no way ta describe it coz everyone experiences it differently. I suffer from it, but every time I listen ta someone else’s experience, I’m always shocked 😮 and always triggered 😤

I don't care about what is happening. No parent, grandparent, all who kids look up to should be seriously or jokingly calling a child ugly.

her channel. It teaches me so much as an aspiring psychologist and as a person who suffersfrom mental illnesses. Thand’s story is mine and everyday is a fight and a battle. I share it on my channel, the abuse, low self esteem, the likes

There are those family members you should cut from your life if you can: Always pointing out the negatives, dragging you down. As for men, yall need to do better, take care of what you made. Simple, no need to be a millionaire to take care of your child🙄
