From my limited understanding of the inkjet coated washi, they feature a smooth surface for clearer printing quality. However, they have a wider range of papers with or without sizing for printmaking and other wet media that produce different results. So much more to learn!

A very belated happy birthday Chanel🎂. You should also consider a visit to the American Bookbinders Museum in San Francisco - they have some really great bits of the machinery used in the early days of mechanical bookbinding and their site also has some really good resources and links. Adam Savage recently did a video of his visit there. Much though I'd love to I daren't visit a shop like that - I'd end up completely bankrupt (as opposed to just broke).

Happy belated birthday Chanel! The shop was incredible and when I saw hungarian cotton paper sign my jaw dropped! 😅 Very proud of Vinczemill, hope I can go Szentendre this year to see their shop! Great video - I can totally relate. I put my photo art business aside for a while because I realized I didn’t have the bandwidth to do the marketing I needed to do. So now I’m exploring some new creative pursuits (journal making) and back to knitting and sewing. Just going to see where these take me.

As a multimedia designer I've always wanted to design and print my own book covers, just to give my creations that little bit extra. Unfortunately, I keep messing up. Most often the paint doesn't stick to the fabric or discoloration. Do you print/ design your book cover by yourself? If you do, I'd love to see how you do that. What tools and paints do you use and what are the things you pay extra attention to due to the risk of potentially messing up your work or just to your book that little bit prettier. Thank you for your video's. They're such a treat!

Hi Chanel! I think using that gossamer-like paper for interleaves is a great idea! Thanks for sharing your trip to Hiromi Paper. I was also wondering if you might do some collage leaves with combos of that paper as well, to insert in your books, perhaps?? It fun to get infected by your love of paper! I want to know more about paper and papermaking now. Happy Belated Birthday as well! You might do some research on the history of freeways in LA. You'll learn why the public transit is so meh in LA. I'm sure you'll be fascinated about that story. Also have you considered Ko-fi as another platform to grow your following? Thanks for sharing! 🙂

@@bittermelonbindery Hi Chanel, Apparently Ko-Fi doesn't charge like Patreon. I am considering Ko-Fi and Big Cartel because they seem to care about artist support over piggybacking on the work of artists. Ko-Fi looks to be expanding their platform so they are an alternative to Patreon. See what you think?
