Being a buddhist i feel sorry for hindus. Dont understand why people always have to attack the monuments whenever they invade any place. Its not just a history of religionor group of people, its the collective history of us as human.

14:34 many historians and visitors misunderstood stairs like structure as stairs for humans to climb but it's so small and steep for humans. Basically in ancient time the water would flow down on those steps from the 4 tanks 19:09 like structures at the top. If you get down in the tanks at the top you can see holes for water to flow on these stairs. Also the area that you are standing now, in ancient times that would be filled with water. That's the reason you see a completely water insulated floor without a single way for water to seep through. I have been there and observed these structures extensively for 3 days. In my opinion it is not only just a temple but also an engineering marvel pumping the water to nearby fields based on air fuelled water pumping technique. Give a thought.

Well Amit, the Ankgor wat temple was built as a hindu temple when the state religion was Hinduism; meaning the ruling elite adopted Hinduism, but later Buddhism became the state religion and the government support and protection stopped for Hindu temples; that is when the they started building more Buddhist temples and started converting the existing hindu temples to Buddhist temples.

Amitbhai iam frm Bombay my age is 78 years, 25 nove. To 30th November 2023 me Angkorwat aa raha hu. Mera sapna 60 sal ke bad pura hoga. Bachpan se Angkorwat dekhne ka socha tha.

I'm Khmer. We owe a lot to India, from hinduism to buddhism, even if we still have some primitive and animist beliefs. Still, India has had such a huge cultural influence on Khmer empire, you can still see it writing, in food and music too. Best regards from France!

These people have embraced Buddhism over Hinduism and they are NOT forcefully converted. it is by their choice. By the time when the construction was almost finished they had changed the temple into a Buddhist temple. And how humble these people are reflected in their nature.

I prefer pooja ho. I visited ancient temples complex in amarkantak and was sad to see so many shivlings and koi pooja nahi ho rahi thi. So I'd prefer them to be real temple than tourist spots
