aside from ikea, target's probably my fav store to just wander around in. i'm rarely tempted by more than a couple snacks, but home depot is where things get really dangerous. the moment i walk in, i hear the theme song in the back of my head and just start loading up a cart with lumber. the possibilities are just so limitless with all the materials they have...

“ you need to get rid of stuff.” I totally agree. Storage bins just encourage stockpiling junk by putting it out of sight. - I talked to a Keurig salesman who said they have come out with a biodegradable cup. I have not seen it in stores yet.

Stores are supposed to offer towels, but you may only need to buy them twice in your life. When you leave your parents' home, and when you add a few children to your family. I've been using mine for ages, too. I have a couple new ones stored, but so far I haven't had a need to break out the back up supply.

I almost always shop knowing what I want and carrying a list if more than a few items. So, when I go to Target, the only big box store in my town, I start by asking the people at the service desk where the item(s) I am looking for. So, they say such and such aisle. I look there and look and look and look but do not find it. So, I scour the store for an employee and find one on the opposite side of the store. Inevitably, he/she does not know the department I am searching in, so he/she calls someone to help. After waiting 10 minutes or so an employee comes over and starts looking in the same places I already have looked, they do not know where anything is! I come up with nothing except the loss of an hour and a half, but I sure save at Target. You are one of the most honest, thought provoking and enjoyable people on KZfaq so keep up the good work.

Frozen vegetables are arguably better than fresh. The frozen vegetables are flash frozen straight after being picked so will be more fresh than the so called fresh ones in the shop which have been sitting out for a while. They also tend to be cheaper and obviously last longer.

I love Target. It is easy to spend $ if you don't have self control which I do. I would love videos on quality, long lasting brands. Anymore it seems most things do not hold up, especially if purchased online from Amazon imo. Frozen vegetables from what I've heard from nutritionists are actually fine if you want to eat healthy & need convenience. There's a common misconception they're not healthy but often times they have more nutrients bc they're flash frozen right at harvest. Just have to make sure they don't add bad sauces or sugar in.

I tend to get exhausted at physical stores and buying much less because it's so tiresome to compare and calculate prices. Now that I have a car again I try to look online and make a list so I buy something when I am there. I hate buying something without knowing it's the cheapest possible per unit of measurement. 🤪 I do LOVE frozen vegetables and meat and everything else because I can help myself to it without a time pressure and I can buy a year or two in advance. Also great against inflation. 😁 Oh, and those ingredients usually come pre cut and pre peeled and clean.

@@BeatTheBush I do it too, but it's so tiring and I get frustrated after a few comparisons. Then I just give up and drive back home. I used to love shopping before, but now I feel like I always need to double check things because price differences seem to be higher than decades ago. Do you experience the same? Glad you may still have price match there (?). Here in the Netherlands they almost call us a "cheak b*tch" if we ask for things like price matching, discounts, rain cheques or even free ketchup. 🥴 I guess it's the price I pay for living where most people are frugal. Please enjoy America has tons of abundance and people who don't care about wasting money, so you can still find nice deals and have fun shopping (not that we need it, but it's way more entertaining to go out shopping when there's at least a few deals). 🙏🏻

Teftlon pans are awful for you and the environment. Invest in a good steel wok, sauce pan, and soup pot; they should last you a lifetime or more. Idk what it's made of but Ramsay uses some kind of weird nonstick frying pan that I think isn't chemical coated. If I remember right, the frozen vegetables are better because they are frozen "shortly" after harvest, so the nutrients don't degrade; then again, people will end up cooking them so the heat will degrade some of the nutrients anyways, but at least you theoretically start with more nutrients. Cheap eggs for testing? Lol I'm curious. I like free range eggs :)

For the salmon calculation. Pink vs sockeye (red) salmon. 24 oz/16oz=1.5. 1.5×1150=1725, which is higher than 1660. So even though sockeye has more omega 3 per serving, overall the pink salmon going to have more overall omega 3...1725 vs 1660...and you get more calories. So pink salmon, is cheaper and get more bang for your buck. So at this point buying sockeye salmon is mainly for the taste preference.

Prepackaged foods do tend to be high in sodium, yes-but most of the issue is the lack of potassium which acts as its counterbalance. Both are necessary for cell function-sodium acts outside the cell membrane in electrical signaling, and potassium acts inside.
