In this video, I’m visiting some of the best anime stores in New York City while attempting to complete a set of challenges from each store. The stores featured offer a wide selection of figures , Pokémon Cards , blind boxes and more. You'll see merchandise of popular shows like Naruto , One Piece , Dragon Ball , Bleach , Jujutsu Kaisen , Haikyuu and more. If you're a big Shonen Jump fan in general, these stores definitely have a lot to offer for you. You can also find merchandise from Pokemon , Sanrio , Vocaloid , Gundam , Detective Conan (Case Closed) , and more. These shops are basically a slice of Akihabara (Akiba), Japan in New York. I hope you enjoy seeing what these stores have to offer by watching the video in full. That Eeveelution blind box is pretty good in terms of the figure quality. The Flareon one is also one of, if not, the heaviest among all the designs 😎

@@KrystalKollectz I’ve been buying and collecting blind boxes for a while now. Sometimes it is possible to tell out some designs based on the weight, any part that may be felt on the box, how the figure inside moves when u shake the box, etc. But for this Pokemon blind box it’s too difficult to shake and feel as all of the figures are secured inside plastic blister that fill up the entire box. Hence the next bet is to guess which design weighs the most, the least etc. If the figures are displayed, helps even more cause you can gauge how heavy it is based on the size, or if the store allows you can also take it off the shelf to feel the weight.

Tbh this is very impressive 😆. it makes sense though, I did notice that the Flareon in particular has the largest looking backdrop / elemental effect around it. And with that logic, Eevee looks supposedly the lightest 😅

I’ve gone to all the stores you went to except Teso-X and would have to say Anime Egg-Cellent was my favorite. They have a great variety and lots of Iciban Kuji!! If you’re ever thinking of going back to Flushing, I recommend Anime Castle. It’s been my go-to for years!! The selection is great, service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable! Anyways, loved your video!!

Great selections! I live in NY and it’s great to see more of these store open up as they’re becoming more popular. Seems like Queens is the borough that has the most anime stores. Other stores you can check out are Tamashii Nations (in Times Square), ToysDiva (Long Island), Gatcha (it’s an arcade with anime figures in Tangram Mall) and Anime Castle (Flushing).

Why are blind boxes so expensive? $15-$20 for a plastic figurine- no moving parts or other features. And you are not guaranteed the figure you want? Maybe I’m from an older generation…. I rather pay $100 for an imported figure - posable and you know what you are getting.

That’s why I get the mystery boxes where I’d be happy with the majority (or any option) of what I can pull. I fear spending over $100 on an imported figure when there is a risk of damage during transit, which I’ve seen on multiple occasions. I’d rather buy in person if possible. Also there’s the extra satisfaction you get when you do pull the chase that you want. 😁

I would be careful with Teso X. they are really good as an arcade front. but their prices for a lot of their anime figures and Gundams are pretty bad. it could be because they aren't offical partners with a lot of brands that they need to jack up prices. but in a lot of other places u can find the same stuff for 15 to 20% cheaper.
