Tachi Nii chan Buddy… pronouns are a natural part of the English language. What he’s saying has nothing to do with the he/she/they pronouns, but a subject in English; pronoun/adverbs/adjectives. It’s basic sentence structuring. While he/she/they are all normal pronouns, and are used literally all the time, others include: I, you, and we. There are many. Even your name can be one, if used properly in the sentence. They/them is a proper pronoun, and actually can be used in the singular form! You’ve probably used it before without even realising it!

I would be the same, I'm Navajo or Dińe and I would hide my political views, but have a positive discussion about our views, and not to win her over to being more concerned about why she voted for Trump. I would hug her, and thank her for the discussion. We might be different tribes, but we are family no matter what politics we follow.
