Tom definitely delivers one of his strongest vocal performances here. Another famous 60s singer had a huge hit with this was Shirley Bassey. You might want to hear her version as well. As for more Tom Jones' songs; "I Believe", "Green Green Grass of Home", "It's Not Unusual", "Delilah", "She's A Lady", "Treat Her Like a Lady", "Land of a Thousand Dances"! When Tom had his 70s variety TV show, he would host the music industry's hottest talent (from the 60s & 70s) and take on duets with them; Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Wilson Pickett, and so many more amazing entertainers.

Hi. Fantastic reaction as usual. When I listen to this song I picture the callous woman that Tom loves. He’s broken-hearted and tearful. She calls him pathetic and bluntly tells him that she does NOT want him. Then she walks away.

This was certainly among the Tom Jones classics, he done many powerful songs around that time. Another suggestion to react to is "I Have Dreamed" which was on the same album I Who Have Nothing & is very powerful & similar in emotion.

About Tom Jones, I don't want to suggest songs that other reactors are doing. But for rarer songs, how about "Young New Mexican Puppeteer" or "Daughter of Darkness".

Tom is actually a very happily married man in these days. he married his high school sweetheart until she died of cancer. He never remarried. They had 2 boys also.

Tom and his wife Linda had one son together, Mark. The other son, Jonathan Berkery, is with a girl he met at a club. He denies the paternity even though the DNA showed the probability of him being the father is 99.9%. He said that Jonathan's mother tricked him into getting her pregnant. I read an article and saw a documentary featuring Jonathan being Homeless and saying he wants to meet Tom. As of today Info I don't know if he's changed his opinion because this information was a couple years ago.

@@msalykat6466 it is also said Tom can't stand confrontation and there have been articles saying the young man was angry and hateful toward him. Maybe Tom's wife did not want him having another family. He did accept paternity publicly in 2008 and paid child support through the years. Still it would be nice to see it all work out nicely

Ok, this is going to be so sick to read, and I’m not being serious. A different take on the song is that she never left him, doesn’t know him. Instead he’s an obsessed, psychopathic stalker. Watching her through windows? Following her around to see what they’re doing, dancing, getting presents, being intimate? Sounds like stalking to me. Is her name Delilah? Is he next going to sing about him stabbing her to death because she spent the night with someone else? (Remember, he waited until this other man left at dawn.) LOL Only a different, disturbed way of looking at this. Pure speculative fantasy. - BG

I think your understanding of this song is not quite right. He’s saying that he has nothing to offer this woman that he does not know. In essence, he’s kind of like a stalker in that he watches her from a distance and even though he adores her, she’s with someone else and really does not know who he is. Enjoyed your reaction!

Sir Tom Jones is still singing with a very strong voice at the age of 82 years. He is also a coach on the Voice UK. Sadly he lost his wife a few years ago.
