I have an old channel that I would post vids back in 2007. I remember we would get excited when we would google our channel name/video name and russian/chinese websites would reupload our vids since they couldn't have KZfaq I guess back then. It was funny cause we thought we were getting famous but it was just bots reposting the content from KZfaq to another website in another language. So there could be a possibility to find them if they are stored on a server from another country.

Jeeze, this is unreal since I remember watching those videos in the earlier days, back when I didn't even have a youtube account since I was in highschool at the time and too young to be bothered about actually making one. It's weird to think that they're just lost to the void now, potentially, just little fragments in our memories that you can't quite grasp due to them being hazy and blurry. I don't have the skills to find anything if it even does exist out there, but I'm sure someone will locate something with time. My first thoughts would be to look up alternate video sites that operated at the same time as KZfaq, and see if there's any re-uploads or anything with similar content that exists on them somehow, potentially under a different name. Failing that, see if there's any familiar names in the currently existing videos that can be searched up and see if any leads stem from the people in the videos. I'm just waiting for a confirmation video essay about how some guy tracked down the original team that developed KZfaq and through that connection found some old hard drives with backups and then systematically looked through all of them from that year and found the one with the videos

Finding these videos would be quite a difficult task. Honestly the only way to get them back is A: have each individual url/exact title of each video and try using the wayback method. B: Find an ancient blog of some random dude on the internet who saved Charlie's videos (best option probably). Or C: Try to figure out the locations of data centers youtube used prior to Google's acquisition in 2006 and try to search for any lingering data from 14 years ago. That last one is a long shot and probably illegal... but come on! how cool would that be to find his videos from 14 years ago randomly chilling in some mysql database!

Don’t worry, Charlie. I will make it my utmost mission to search (takes only 2 minutes and 33 seconds to look for them) for these videos and not find them at all. I know this feeling. I wanted to find the name of the song used in the menu soundtrack for the flash game MotoRush. After flash was dead, we couldn't just play the game music and we thought all hope was lost. Turns out, there was one walkthrough video posted to YT well over ten years ago that had the intro song for a few seconds. That few seconds was enough for YT to put a copyright notice in the description. We ran the ID through the website it was copyrighted through and managed to find the song after 10 years of searching.

People definitely over estimate the Wayback Machine. If any creator makes something you like, doesn't matter what it is or how big they are, download them. Keep em on a drive cause you never know when someone decides to delete everything and move away in life. It happened to me with one of OneyNGs friends who was getting into KZfaq/NG at the time, but then randomly deleted everything except one or two vids. I don't think I would overly care for the content these days but I told myself I would download em sometime for nostalgia sake but I procrastinated too long on it.

I know that feeling. Back in 2003, I rebuilt the Battle of Narshe from Final Fantasy VI into Warcraft III (Frozen Throne was released in the middle of the project). Full battle sequences, full stats/math, full menus, special attacks, magic, party creation; almost everything I could think of, even summons, despite them not being available at that point of the game. (maybe not equipment though) I had uploaded several versions of it but somebody pointed out that the enemy units didn't have the same staggered walk as the game, then the project started going off rails. I just couldn't get it work right, so I devoted the rest of that time fixing the assets to make a proper total conversion. Of course, with me not caring about copyright law, I had inserted a few Black Mages tracks and it was probably removed because of that. I know it wont work with modern Warcraft III and Blizzard is a piece of shit company, but I can't seem to find my backups and it would be cool to have it again.

There's probably an HP server rack laying in a landfill in Kenya that's seconds away from getting crushed with a bulldozer.

I've been searching for a game that I played as a child for over 2 years now with no luck :( All I remember is that its a paddle game on windows xp. You bounce a pinball around and destroy what I think are moving space ships (or robots). I have only have faint memories of this game. I think there was 2 different modes in the menu, and I think there was a boss fight every 10 levels. Once you lose, you go back to the main menu and have to restart. If anyone knows of any games that matches any of these points (even some points, not all) please let me know.
