After being a rockstar stay-at-home mom for 13 years, Kelly found grant writing as a way back into meaningful work. For years, she explored different career paths for that “later in life” moment and heavily considered getting a Master's to buckle down on one career. However, student debt wasn’t feasible for her family. Kelly shares how she went from believing she could only get entry-level positions for small nonprofits to instead transforming her life by working from home as a grant writer.

Thank you for this! As a fellow unicorn, I can relate so much! I work from home for my 9-5 and I have 2 small children. I have been trying to work my business around my crazy work hours and family life. I need to set my hours for my business.

Yes indeed! It can be a hard shift to move from feeling like you have to help everyone by giving up your time and money, to realize you can effect change while still getting paid for the value of your work.
