Yeah, my understanding of the law is that you can do pretty much anything with a drone indoors, even over 25kg if you wanted to since part IX of the CAR doesn't apply indoors. Coming from someone who has passed the advanced RPAS exam (still need my in-flight evaluation). update : reading about it right now, you do need authorization for drones over 25kg even indoors. Still, you can most likely use the old 'kite' method where a wire is attached to a brick and the drone so it doesn't legally fly.

I think a normal person would be allowed to fly indoors, however in most countries there are different rules if you use it for commercial purposes - which LTT is doing.

You can compare them, that's like comparing 2, 5 gallon buckets of water with one letting 1 gallon out per minute vs the other that can let 2 gallons out per minute. They have the same capacity but one lets less water out at once.

@@connerg3653 I'll give you an example: Battery 1: 5000mAh X 5V = 25Wh Battery 2: 5000mAh X 10V = 50Wh As you can see both batteries has the same "mAh" rating but one has DOUBLE the energy of the othere. So if you want to compare them using mAh they must have the same voltage (phones usually have around the same voltage so its fine to compare them with each other using mAh).

You can compare capacity only if the voltage is the same, otherwise it's pointless because the stored energy (in watts/h) varies directly from the later. Eg a 3500 mAh 3V battery, as is typical in a smartphone, stores 4 times less energy than the 3500 mAh 12V one in the drone. (10 vs 40 Wh)

3500mah at 11.5 v, so 4*3500mah lithium ion cells stacked back to back, so more like a 14000mah battery if it were apples to oranges. And about half again as big as the previous version Edit :maths 3->4 That's a *lot* of battery to cram in such a tiny drone 1/3 the weight is battery (198g of 570) A phone battery doesn't weigh half a pound :p

i would say those "spare" joystick holders are so you can take them on and off for transport in a bag, so you don't have them getting snagged, forced, or damaging the controller mechanism with just being forced into a position for lengths of time.

I got the Mavic Air 2 some days ago ordered from dji. First impressions, I love it, coming from original Air its a new league. Everything is better. Most appreciated improvings are the lower less irritating sound and the far better connectivity. I also like the new fly app. Not so fiddly as the go4. This new drone just feels solid in all aspects. Not to forget to mention the flight time, original air was out of battery just after take off. This one still have battery left when wife calls me in for dinner. The new controller is much better. It feels more natural having the screen above the controller sticks. It fly great and I didnt even have to calibrate the compass and it shipped from shenzen china to Sweden! I just started it up updated the firmwares through the app and took off and it was smooth as butter.

Thank you for making a big deal about the regulations and licensing. Many people get super psyched to fly, but don't realize that there's a lot of restrictions, even on hobbyist use. I have a DJI Spark, but I can't really fly it anywhere near me legally. I'm excited to take it out in the middle of nowhere this summer and try it though.

Stan Lee Overregulation is getting more and more bullshit by the day as someone who flies on a daily basis practically trust me here in the states it’s getting worse and worse I understand the need for regulations and restrictions 100,000% but they need to get their act together they don’t even differentiate between a drone and a model aircraft when it comes to certain rules like a line of sight I mean seriously if Drone can go let’s say 4 miles away and has more safety features than a 90s Toyota I’m confident I don’t have to keep the damn thing within line of sight but that’s another story for another day

I have got my licence back in May 2019 right after the new regulations rolled out. And I bought my self a DJI mavic pro but then after I reliased how much it's restricted in here Vancouver, I ended up selling my first & my dream drone sealed unopened and I was left with the useless cirtificate

@@saintecho6133 I don't have a drone certificate but one of the flight instructors at my school said all he did was go online take a 30 minutes test and got his drone certificate. I don't know if the test was made easier was easier because he was already a commercial pilot but it seems fairly easy to get one in the U.S. I currently have my private certificate and glancing at the regs for drones there doesn't seem to be as many as compared to the other certificates.

I'm pretty sure Ocusync 2.0 is not what you used with the remote pc build. Those are dji HD fpv goggles that have their own system, which is 20ms latency. Ocusync 2.0 has 120ms in latency.

You are correct. Can't believe no one else caught this. The DJI Digital FPV goggles he showed are NOT compatible with ANY DJI made camera drone! You would need to use the red/black DJI Racing Edition goggles! The DJI Digital FPV system use a very different, 5.8 GHz only, low latency protocol. Occusync 2.0 has almost 3x the max range (17km, "rated" for 10km) due to the fact that it's also using 2.4 GHz, but it's a MUCH higher latency like you said.

Regarding battery part, the voltage of the drone battery is around 11.55 V which delivers 40 Wh of energy. That's 3 times more than normal li-ion 3500 mah.

When someone knows nothing about drones and you give him a drone for a review, very funny but this is actually the best drone for this market. Propeller comes with indicators for installing, white or black rings, you need to detach the dome in order to allow ventilation for camera and drone internals, controller comes with his own stick at bottom those are spares

As a regular DJI drone operator the video enraged me The thumbsticks you took out of the box WERE THE SPARES!! The propellers with the white on them go on the motors with the white marks ! And the fact that you flew the drone with gimbal protector on annoyed me but I'm glad you now know what's it's purpose is.

The specific need to have a license to fly the drone must be specifically due to its weight. I can't find any other mention of other BC laws regarding drones.

Until one falls on your head because the pilot didn't inspect it before the flight, then you won't. I've been injured by a drone (it was my own right after I got it because I have very little flight experience and my hand was bleeding for 3 weeks

Your phone's 3500 mAH is at nominal 3.7 volts (1S). The Mavic's 3500 mAh is at 3S voltage. So it's 3x as much energy.

The capacity is 3500mah or 3. 5ah. 3s is Series connected, meaning 3x voltage 1x capacity...

@@pgnetus You need an RCMP escort for each piece, engineering inspection and plan, an environmental assessment, and ministerial approval letter prior to each furniture being move. Each piece must be moved by a certified and licenced facilities arrangement specialist. This is Canada! Nothing moves without the government knowing, inspecting, approving, licencing and debriefing it. LOL.

@@stefan514 you can't kill people in your home, that's illegal. killing yourself isn't. so as long as your droning can only hurt you, and it's not a public space the law has no reason to step in. drones aren't a controlled substance either

No oversight, 2 propellers have silver marks on them as well as the motors they go on. The other 2 have no marks. It's easy.

One thing you missed is that it doesn't have any top facing sensors. It's a small thing but it will hurt with detection flying under opticals like trees or whatever. Hopefully you can test that when you do the full review.

Btw LMG team: the 3300mAh battery is at 5S, which means it's 5x 3300mAh cells @ ~3.7V. Linus should know this from spot welding his RC packs!

Awesome to hear that you've got some FPV drone racing enthusiast guys in your staff! Would be so fun to see you and the other guys in the team react to flying a racing drone in simulator and then try it in real life. Without stabilization of course :D

That sucks here in America you will need a license if you want to do it for commercial purposes other than that you're just expected to keep it below 400 feet and not fly in certain airspace.

linus, all you have to do is see which propellers spin clockwise vs counterclockwise I'm pretty sure A is clockwise and B is counter but it depends, different drones have the props spin different directions, sooooo...

You can compare Ah if you have same amount of cells/same voltage. What matters is Wh. Compare that to Your phone.

Pretty sure the joysticks you put on are the spares. The ones in the controller are removable for transport and store in the controller
