It just dawned on me @okie scrapper had a Briggs engine looked like that.🤔 He sells his scrap in Oklahoma city. Those engines are out there, used. Shipping to Mustie would be bout 300 and a hassle, imho

Randy. I wanted to say first and foremost I know what your feeling right now. My step-up dad as I call him was diagnosed with early onset dementia and Alzimers at 46. And then Parkinson at 54. Watching him struggle and decline is the hardest thing I've had todo in my 42 years of life. He passed September 27th 2017 at 57 years old. My family and I will keep you and your family in our prayers. Keep making the awesome content that you do! God Bless.

Sorry to here about your uncle. As for the tractor i am optimistic about its return to service. A pull of a runer from another is an option or a preditor repower from harbor fright or briggs and stratton are options. Would love to see this old school peice of iron back in service.

Randy! The fact that you give us a video every single day makes me so happy because the fact that you are going through a lot and you’re still able to give us Contant is amazing. And I would actually love to see a lawnmower project. Matter fact, my favorite videos were always the one where are you and Mike we’re on tours or in different state auctions. Hopefully one day soon down the road those collaboration videos will happen again. I don’t know why but both of you are amazing but when you are both in one video it’s a different story, it’s like a party every time.

It could still be interesting content to see it really get used again, I guess in the end it all comes down to time and money, especially as busy as you stay with other projects and walk around videos. Nothing like an old school boxy Craftsman mower from the 1980's-1990's era. That one looks so clean. Most were beat to snot and rusty. The original owner must have washed it down and kept it clean after each mow. I hope all will be well with your uncle. That Dialysis thing is something that needs to be kept up. My dad is on it. 3 times a week for about 4 hours, it then takes several hours to recover from it and he now cannot travel a lot of places he used to (like Canada).

Could be as simple as valve seat, those engines are pretty easy to work on, you know enough people in the car biz that someone is bound to know a small engine guy. First thing…. Iam praying for your uncle and you and your family. This is a very stressful and painful time and all of our thoughts and prayers are with you. I went thru the same thing with my granddad and will never forget it. So I hope and pray everything gets better very soon. Second thing is my granddad had the same exact mower and I mowed his yard with it when I was little and would love to have a mower like that. Hope you fix it and get it going or sell it to something will love it for what it is and means. Thank you for this video as well as all the others. God bless you.

So sorry to hear about your uncle. My prayers go out to you and your family. You can still find those opposed twin engines readily available on Marketplace, craigslist etc... and from what I hear they're pretty good. If you do swap to a more modern v-twin engine. Couple things to keep in mind is the crankshaft size and orientation, big enough charging system that'll support the electric PTO/Clutch. BTW Love the content, keep up the great work!

Randy, it's funny as I typed out a comment on the last video but I never posted it. My grandfather had the smaller version of this mower the 12hp if memory serves me right and he taught me how to mow back in the 90s on it. My grandfather took excellent care of his mower but my father sold it and everything my grandfather owned when my grandfather died at the ripe old age of 99. Your video with this mower reminds me of my grandfather ALOT. Lifes short man and the ones we love are here and gone before we know it.

It looks like a more modern version of the 1973 Sears ST 16 Twin garden tractor with 48” mower deck and Koehler engine that my family purchased when we moved from the city to the country - it was our first power mower as we always had push type reel mowers when we lived in the city. Finally sold that mower in 2012 - carburetor rebuild and fuel system clean out and it was mowing again for a neighbor - sold for $50, but not as pristine as yours as ours had mowed 7.5 acres 20 times per season all of the years that we owned it.

Definitely the wrong plugs and the cause for everything. Noise is from the bent intake valves slapping and most likely the cause of loss compression. Pull the heads and the jugs. Replace and lap the valves. Hone out the cylinder jug and replace rings on piston if damaged. Be willing to bet though with a good flushing they'll come back around after a couple heat cycles. A cheaper to fix than replace scenario for sure. Such a beautiful piece of machinery!! Would be awesome to see it live again! Awesome find man! Real talk, take care of you and yours first and foremost. Blessings and respect to the hustle and grind.

Since it’s one of the 6 speed tractors with the hi/low speed selector it should be easy for you to get the $100 out of it selling it. People on mytractorforum and other garden tractor sites would be all over that. About 6 years ago I got a hydrostatic Craftsman tractor for free and parted it out, making a little bit in the process. I only kept the rear tires and wheels.

Sears used that same transmissions since the 70s. My 1973 Sears ST16 has that same transmission, just pray the brakes are in ok shape, cuz it’s a pain in the butt to replace the brake band. Basically u gotta drop the transmission, then for parts for that tractor, good luck cuz it’s hard to get parts at all since Sears sold out. Man that was way too easy. I’ve got a 116 that was like that, cleaned the carb, new starter, a decent battery, & it started right up.
