Everyone says the old marss is back, but it's actually a new marss. He became a better player and unlocked a new level of his zss. More patient, more technical. With the old tricks and new ones too. The other top players beware because what the boy is cooking is really dangerous. Congratulations boy. For your first places in the tournament. Even Marss said after the tournament that he ran into mostly positive matchups, there really wasn't a lot of top FP2 talent he ran into at this event where he would need to consider a secondary

It looks like similar to other players in the community, Marss is doubling down on his true soul main. I hope he fights to have some of the success that Gluto does with Wario, Leo did with Byleth, Tweek has with diddy, Dabuz has with Rosa, etc. It honestly seems to pay off more in this meta than picking "the better character"

What really impresses me is the way Marss is finding kills now. He’s always had a remarkable way of making his opponents look stupid by showing he knows exactly what they’re going to do, and now he’s applying that sense he has by catching people with back airs and down specials for fairly early kills. The way he’s been using flip kick to spike people coming back to ledge looks terrifying and I’m so excited to see Marss continue to compete.

@@SteezeLouise it’s not about him being a good player or not, like he’s obviously qualified to be on there (and they’ve talked to him before about getting him on). But the problem is just relevance in what that episode is about at the time and if it would be best to have him on. Now that he’s gotten a straight up win for a major (and Tweek talks every episode talk about the recent majors) they have a better marketing reason for including him in an episode

@@jadonharley6199 just because a new generation of players started coming up doesn’t take anything away from how good and smart Marss is, marss took a break from tournaments after Covid because he is making infinitely more money streaming and making content. He has said multiple times that only regional majors and supertourneys are worth it, he also knew how rusty he was for skipping all those tourneys, which I guess is why he wanted to start getting back into them again. But he has always had the mindset and skill of a top player in ultimate especially
